Or is the Love-me-Love-me-not petal prediction more fine?
To chill one up mimicking the wiles of the wilds without artistry guiding, substituting instead human meddling…
A bit of tweaking might create a wonder:
Snow crystals that don’t absorb or wear any dirt. Always mountain portrait perfect and sugar pretty covering the ground.
Flurries only on schedule. White Christmas guaranteed. Predictable ski conditions.
Drifts dissolving with consideration in measured time. No icy drip turning two massive floods.
Like manipulating DNA and GMOs
Like in vitro and early genetic redo for broken DNA.
Like producing better animals and crops
Whether the weather?
Tweaking nature acceptable for humans and plants, so surely sculpturing snowflakes not too chilling.
Could be cool.
Exquisite designs
Except, one clumsy chiseling, welcome ice age.

Animal Control “classified him as part wolf based on his behavior and appearance.”).Odd, aren’t most dogs? Interesting enough, in most places in Colorado, as long as a dog is at least 1% domesticated, it’s legal.
Huffington Post. VIDEO. “City seizes family dog (Black German Shepherd) alleging he may be part wolf” (He jumped the fence. They will not give him back and plan on either taking him to a wolf sanctuary or euthanizing him. What? For ten years he’s been cuddling with the family and sleeping with the kids….)
Tracy Abbato, Capone’s owner has opened a “Get Capone Home” GoFundMe Page for attorney fees, fines for having an exotic animal, and to build a taller fence.

Until this is settled, Molly Malamute, whose ancestors were the now extinct Eastern European wolves that wandered across the ice bridge into Alaska (not the North American wolf species), is barking up a storm to prevent others from being snagged. Marking the state off vacation plans.

Capone looks exactly like a black German Shepherd that walks daily in the neighborhood (He’s a male and Molly feels he is a bit too sure of himself and repeatedly tells him she is not that kind of a girl…)
It seems the worst thing that can happen to an animal group is to be noticed and become a trendy breed. Too many see dogs as accessories not as individuals.

Oh, good grief. This business of banning this and banning that is getting out of hand. Now, the Air Force has received a memo from some higher up saying “girl” and “boy” are among the offensive words that can’t be used. Maybe the breed that needs controlling is the one with two legs and no brain. (Grump, grump)

So, see. The Pope’s plan for fewer children – slowly limiting if not eliminating the human species – isn’t so wild. Words are simply hot air and sound – can’t hurt you if you don’t let them. Where are the grownups?
Someone in Aurora made a poor decision and is determined to dig into a stupid power struggle. No good will come out of this.

Here’s what I don’t understand about the “delicate snowflake” concept: are we making fun of someone because they are a snowflake, a unique individual? OR are we making fun of someone because they are delicate and need extra care? I get that the term is used in a mocking way by both sides of the political spectrum, but I’ve never figured out what it actually means. Do you know?

It’s a reference to the tendency of some to “melt” under the slightest breath of disagreement or criticism, like a snowflake on a mitten will melt when you breathe on it. I don’t think I’ve ever come across it being used as a criticism of individuality.

Having turned off tv a bit ago, I’m not sure when/where the word snowflake became a snarky remark and for what. I always connected snowflakes with elegance, delicacy, and a bit of mystery – fragile beauty – one that is so rare it cannot last long in the real world. Snowflakes like in the Dance of the Snowflakes in the Nutcracker ballet. Now the word has been hijacked completely. very recently I’ve seen it on some normally level headed blogs. (referring to those too emotional/childlike in responses to opposition/ones demanding some authority move in and force the bad/different thinkers to change/ ones who insist on Safe Places where they only hear one line of though…which doesn’t sound like any college or university campus should be like?)
Another good word destroyed by no fault of it’s own.
(The Judd family has struggled for years – also through no fault of their own. Anyone who follows car racing knows Ashley and her behavior from when she was married to a famous driver. She is a fragile, creative individual who needs a bit of shelter against the winds at times. Younger people seeing her may not realize (like some who wanted her to run for office recently). Sometimes I feel there are others who are quite aware they can get her hyper-charged and she can get spinning too fast and start saying wild dramatic over the top things. I resent her being used by others for their purposes.I do agree with Ashely that the time has come to go back to the old society rule of “don’t discuss money, religion, or politics at social gatherings.” But then again while she pats herself on the back for not going ballistic on the guy, she iOS ignoring the fact that she said just as hateful things on her FB page about him – to a wider audience…so it’s sort of the same thing, but safer behind the screen. Sigh. Like I said. She’s wild dramatic and creative, but wobbles a bit now and then.)
Maybe the Pope is not so far off the track. If there are fewer children, maybe the parents/family will have more time, energy, and support to raise them carefully into strong considerate human beings.
So, can I offer you a wine cooler or ice coffee in thanks for drifting in with a cool comment?

I don’t know when snowflake became a snarky term, either. Like you, when I think of snowflakes I think of fragile beauty, not weakness.
Your reference to Ashely Judd is spot on to the idea of a creative person being in need of protection– and honestly, that’s what I thought delicate snowflake meant. An individual who adds to society, but needs to remove him or herself from the harshness of reality in order to be creative. Wrong on that count, eh?
As for what to not discuss in social settings, I seem to be on that topic today on my blog. Honestly, I’m beginning to wonder why I talk with people at all!

I once had a killer cat. Good thing the authorities didn’t know about her. She would have been banned.

We had one that had 5 black stars on her vet folder…they always came out with elbow length heavy gloves. An elegant long legged feral that showed up ( and immediately had kittens which we found homes for as they were beautiful) “Kitty-kitty” was very loving as long as you made no effort to pick her up. DO NOT PICK UP THIS CAT.
Yep. Don’t tell authorities about those cats.

Gracie I can pick up but don’t do anything else! An attempted mani (nail clipping) resulted in two people with inch deep scratches and a quart of blood. No one can pill her. Did I mention her weight? 6.8 lbs. There is a note on her folder too. When she does in for surgery they check all the things they can’t touch normally. When the vet took her temp at the visit, she was not happy. “Get that damn think outta my butt.”

I have left a message on the Facebook page. Once animals are de-classified as possessions, I think this type of “seizure” will be harder to do. Poor Capone and his family.

Thank you for taking time to help. It took years of hard work for us to get through to the military that trained military service dogs were not simply military equipment/object to be left on site when the soldiers pulled out.(They still are not in total compliance and must be monitored)
I know the wolf purists are rabid about not crossing wolves with domestic dogs for a reason, but this is totally over the line. Encourage their Gofundme page is doing well and in addition experts are contacting them to offer legal help. Will try to let you know what happens. Thanks again to stepping up for the woof.

Iditarod – I heard a musher fell off his sled because he went to sleep mid-race. The dogs finished the segment. Wonder if they were faster? Aurora – what are those people smoking out there? Ridiculous. Paws for peace indeed. Molly and The German are on the case!

I know some animal rights groups hate the Iditarod. But after being around Molly, it’s really obvious that these dogs LOVE to run and pull. Sled and person in snow? No problemo, get out of the way and mush. HA! It wouldn’t surprise me if a dog team finished without a driver – very intelligent dogs who know the trail trials.
Aurora. Really? This is power play worth all the bad PR around the world? Like there’s nothing else more important going on there…
