Stop crying wolf

Scary man's face. Boris Karloff The Mummy .The Mummy. Universal Studio (USPD: )

Now THIS is scary. Should DNA be requested? (USPD/

The truth is out there.

Will it make a difference.

DNA results show he’s a real dog. Not a bad thing in this instance.

Capone, the profiled black shepherd in Aurora, Co., isn’t a wolf according to the DNA results.

Case closed? Not yet.

While Capone is still being held against his will, his owners, the Abbatos, will be back in court Wed morning to face several charges including: having an aggressive animal, having a dog run at large, and keeping an exotic, wild, or dangerous animal.

The Judge will determine whether Capone will be returned to his loving family, stay in custody, or even be put down by Animal Control.

At least there’s no possibility of the 10-year-old dog who sleeps with kids being shuttled off to a wolf sanctuary to face a wild he’s never known. They are 100% not his people.

How long will the city of Aurora drag this out.

RV pups and local hikers with pack are waiting to see if they need to make a wide circle of avoidance around the dognapping city this summer.

Story was even in the UK Daily Mail.

Over 23,061 signatures on the petition “Please Bring Capone Home”

Example of barking up the wrong tree.

Just about everyone has memories of a pet dog – even if it’s just Lassie.

“Everybody needs his memories. They keep the wolf of insignificance from the door.” (Saul Bellow)

So here’s something to put in memory: Nothing is more loyal or more grateful than a rescue dog. It says, “This beer belongs to my master.” There. Dog on duty. (USPD/Commons.wikimedia.oerg)

I hope capone can go back to his family… I wonder why they often pick the worst way what’s possible by law when it comes to judge over animals… and often two legged criminals run away with a smile on their face…

You said it so clearly. Stop bullying animals…or eventually they will have had enough and retake the world.
Guess animals are the only ones some people can push around.
Thanks for trotting by for this update

Well, at least they have the DNA test on their side. Here’s hoping some common sense joins forces with the science.

Just an update (I try to do some serious writing, and then stuff like this shows up…Aaaarrrrgh)
Maybe legalization wasn’t such a great idea? HAHA
      Thanks for following the trail

We are obsessing over dogs. DNA testing faeces is farcical. (Sorry that’s the loopiness n my neck of the woods.)

Could we possibly concentrate on health care, education, women’s rights? Oh 😦 No 😦 Too difficult.

It is stupid. Even animal rescuers like you see it.
All the things that need to be fixed/money spent on time, money and effort on a loose dog?
Big government answerable to no one – no brain bureaucracy (and bottom level management/employee) at it’s finest.
(And for city hall to actually say it’s necessary to insure the health and safety…) Maybe they should check what is being smoked during break times.
      Thanks for snarling along

What is mind-boggling (aside from “all of it”) is that they’re still facing charges of possessing a wild/exotic animal? WHAT? The whole thing is absurd. Do we know why animal control picked him up to begin with, and at this point are they keeping him to save face?

    • philosophermouseofthehedge / Mar 21 2017 7:27 am

It appears to be someone with a problem digging in. (Not the first time apparently) It is absurd. The old dog jumped the fence once – no harm. Fine them if you must, and give the dog back. Not doing the city any good. Thanks for mumbling along.

People can be stupid. They don’t have to be, but they often are. Case in point. *shakes head in dismay*

I’m surprised Aurora doesn’t have anything else to be overly concerned about. Must be a great place to live if the biggest problem they have is a family dog that looks like a wolf. I have two dogs that need to go on diets and sadly it isn’t making the news.

🙂 I think a lot of us have those around the house. I suppose napping pets isn’t really newsworthy.

Unless you step on their tail and they go running out of the house angry and spitting and someone says “Look, a rabid animal” Could happen HAHA (RC Cat is very cranky about her tail. Molly just looks hurt….but considering all, RC is the greater danger….)

These days it has to be a giant fat cat or all the news crews do is yawn?

Yet another illustration of how much more stupid humans are than dogs.

    • philosophermouseofthehedge / Mar 21 2017 9:35 am

Like we needed any reminder. (Dogs are smart enough not to run for president….now cats might consider a crown for an old fashioned supreme rule monarchy…but the catnip mousie weakness is a deterrent…) Thanks for astute observation

    • philosophermouseofthehedge / Mar 21 2017 9:37 am

I guess gangs are down the list way behind packs. Clean up after the dogs, then on to other messes? Thanks for digging up a comment

Where can a dog find a little justice today!?!

    • philosophermouseofthehedge / Mar 21 2017 10:53 am

Hopefully in Colorado on Wed. (Even the state legislators are asking the city to come to their senses.)
Paws crossed…and wolves are watching…they know where you hike….
(Insert dog chuckles and human giggles here)

Absurdity is the order of the day in this reality it seems…

    • philosophermouseofthehedge / Mar 23 2017 6:33 pm

“standard or naturalistic conventions of plot, characterization, and thematic structure are ignored or distorted in order to convey the irrational or fictive nature of reality and the essential isolation of humanity in a meaningless world.” (
Who knew theater of the absurd would be a live action reality show – and the cattle call for roles included everyone?
Capone went home yesterday…he could hardly wait to get in the car. Hunter home from the hells.
