All it would take is one bored asteroid deciding to play bowling with rocks at Earth.
A cosmic fractal perhaps – occurring over and over in various scales across the universe.
Eeny, meenie, mini, moe. This one survives and this one goes.
Edgy.
As the story goes, Will, always the player, waits for things to shake out dramatically. He’s quick claimed the welcoming neighborhood featuring cozy shelters with assorted warm elevated decks and endless Quickie Marts loaded with slow lizards, snails, and insects among the frost killed rotting landscape.(Image: ©)

Chimpanzees are rather nice, ‘cept when they eat their young, ( saw a David Attenborough, I think it was program once where the head honcho male gobbled up some youngsters that were not his. 😦
Come to think of it; I’ll settle for blue tongue lizards, they just gobble up the nasties. 🙂

Red meat….have to wonder if there’s any connection between species’ family violence and species intellectual development? Dogs and cats, associates of humans, will turn carnivores if necessary to survive…now you take cows and horses…haven’t heard of herd attacking (except on Simpsons cartoons). But then again look at those two easily lead species
Hmmmm. Best people aren’t adopting cow and horse mentality?

I used to live in/on what we call the Northern Beaches, an area north of Sydney that has plenty of open country as well as beaches, and where I lived I not only had beautiful birds but a family of ‘Blue Tongue Lizards’
They are a fairly large animal and besides being beautiful, we never had cockroaches or other nasties.
One area had goanna’s and they can grow to 2 metres or more, Can give you a fright .
I’m rather fond of lizards, I have a photo of the baby of my old blue tongue somewhere Must find it and post it’s pic.

Hey, outer space is really rocking’ right now. (Maybe it was better with telescopic clear views and when we were blissful ignorant of that is coming our way HAHA)
Can’t fault him for restarting NASA and the space challenge that JFK started and knew was so important.

Space has always fascinated me since as a boy, shortly after the war going to the Saturday morning children’s movie clubs in England, there to gaze in awe at “Flash Gordons Trip to Mars”.
How could I not have been brain washed? 😀 😈 🐻

An amazing number of scifi films landed about then – Sat morning kid’s clubs here and then on Sat afternoon tv later. I know there were a log of strings attached to the sets, but still so mesmerizing. No wonder we all looked to the skies in open ended wonder. (Found a list of some here – most I remember: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_science_fiction_films_of_the_1950s) The explorer spirit sadly seems to be sleeping now.Small screens can’t really compete…but how to waken?

Obviously Will is pragmatical. A word that I didn’t know existed until I followed your link. Move over pragmatic, there’s a new polysyllabic word in town.

In some worlds, you need words to survive.
Will seems to be doing a pretty good job without right now…hot footing it until summer arrives.
We are debating whether to get the Christmas lights back out if another Arctic front arrives…you know how it is….once a guest arrives, you want to take care of them.

I’ve been seeing a snowy egret atop cars in my parking lot — over on the side nearest the SS fitness center. I can’t help wondering if it might be yours. Once the skill’s learned, after all, there’s no reason not to try it out in a variety of settings!

We’ve spotted another one that seems to be hanging out between the elementary school boulevard ditch and South Shore Harbour parking lots. Looks like the migrating ducks have figured out the marina as a resort shelter and the egrets took note of the area?
Have you seen the pink birds flying around the wetlands? They arrive almost every Jan. and are so lovely contrasting the grey skies. Not flamingoes – about egret size. I really need to look up and see what they are. A bit surreal as they always seem to appear right over you when least expected. Pink!

They’re roseate spoonbills. Where are they? I’ve been trying to find some and only have seen one or two far distant.

In the late afternoon they fly east to west over Egret Bay bridge.Been feasting in the wetlands/park grounds? I’ve never managed a pix either. But they certainly make me smile. Wonder where their resort nesting are located. (Did you catch the news that 2 of the eagle eggs hatched in the Webster nest? – amazing nest cam. donated this year)
