Bob. Twenty-six. No barrettes

Funny the smallest angels hold the most power and unobstructed vision.

Simple.

Clear.

Light.

(Silence. Nod.)

Paper Christmas angel drawn by preschooler hanging on Christmas tree. (Image: all rights reserved. NO permissions granted, copyrighted)

Paper Christmas angel by three-year-old child. Notable with torso, complete facial features, right number of arms, legs, hands and feet. With angel shoes. “Toto  went over the rainbow – and you know dogs drop things. Don’t want to step in that.” And, of course, no barrettes. Explained, with exasperation, “Those are the angel’s wings. Anyone can see that.” Not knowing how to illustrate what is hidden from plain sight, she simply folded them over and placed them clearly – so you’d know for sure they were there and not forgotten. That happens, you know. Miracles fold themselves in for those who see. (Image:©)

Wish all jingles ring the perfect note.

Merry.

Bye,

Bob

And the Phil, the Philosopher Mouse and the rest of the merry mischief makers of the Hedge.

“Merry Christmas From Our Realm to yours.”

(RC Cat insisted things be properly said. She despairs dogs seem thrilled spreading Christmas mud mirth and questionable howlings duets of carols. Bob remains wooden to her concerns.)

Our cats are so over Christmas. The tree didn’t get a second look, not even from newest cat Gracie. I don’t think they believe in the Santa Cat anymore.

Bob: “Cats say that to your face, but RC says the “Hope of a Kitten” is behind the purr. Whatever. More for Bob. Merry. Bye, Bob”

It looks like Bob prefers a more intimate group to celebrate the holidays with. We are like that too. Just the two of us, Mr. T and Oscar. I suppose Punkin the squirrel could stop by for some pecans. She’s like that – shows up for the food and disappears.

We believe Daisy has returned recently, in the night, with other woodland deer to eat at the feeders. A short doe with a notch in her left ear was spotted on the game camera a few nights ago. It just has to be our girl Daisy! I couldn’t ask for a better Christmas gift… unless maybe Ronnie and Emma might return too!

Merry Christmas. I hope you are feeling better.

I count six at Bob’s party — but as always, the more the merrier. Love the angel, and appreciated the explanation since old, dense, adult me would have seen the barrettes. Dixie Rose would send greetings, but she’s curled up sleeping. She still believes in Santa Cat, and thinks that if she sleeps the day away, he’ll get her faster. She might be right.

A very nice angel, indeed, Phil. And I am particularly enamored with the ruby red slippers! The very best to you and your family. –Curt
