RC Cat: respecting dogged diversity

National Day of the Dog. In the spirit of graciousness and kindness to the lesser species We salute the canines.

Those of the furkini clan who protect and provide comic relief.

Even those who appear like Lucy with tire marks on their backs.

Lucy (her story here) is proof that the smallest paws can have a supper bowl of impact on the lives of both dogs and cats.

What? “Supper” / “super” – not much difference.

So in honor of dogs can hardly believe those words managed to pass our lips…although We do admit growing fond of the Molly , We, RC Cat of the Realm have planned some amusing entertainment for our subjects.

Staff insisted We reconsider Our original choice: the movie Dog Day Afternoon.

What? It’s got “dog” in the title. And it is afternoon. (Our paw is quivering with temper…)

Instead We offer an Instructional Video created by another Realm that seems perfect.

This fine feline lecturer has additional training films on such subjects as “Regarding the Big Game“, “The Vertical Carpet“, “The Disappearing Humans”, “The Art of Massage“, “Regarding Friendship”, “Bathing Your Human”, “The Forbidden Water Bowl” and more.

Yes. yes. We could provide easy clicks to links, but these additional videos can be located without too much trouble and how hard is it to look in the sidebars of those listed?

But as with anything, the greater the effort required, the more the joy once the goal is obtained.

Besides We grow weary being altruistic.

We regret duties of the Realm must be attended to, unlike you who have nothing demanded of you but to adore and pay attention to your guiding light of your world, your RC Cat so enjoy your fun without Us.

We accept your appreciative thanks in advance.

And are quite confident you will remember the custom of the Realm.

Don’t forget to leave an open can of food in the doorway as tribute

We toil so others can party. No one could walk away without complying after seeing a gaze of such exhaustion.©

May the treaties between dogs and cat always remain strong.

Adieu, mon chere

I am RC Cat and I approve this message.

RC Cat: “It was the giant Paws and Claws Annual pet adoption weekend here – and the clouds didn’t rain, but just made it cooler. Perfect for families to find a new friend. Paws crossed many many are now in forever homes. Rain isn’t the only thing that can make the world seem cold. In honor of Our friendship, We stand and send a grand paw wave to you. Do you see Us? We are waving on Our tippy toes!”

Well, we’re in the Dog Days of summer, so what could be more appropriate than a National Dog Day? This could explain the two women I met at the Dudley nature center yesterday — walking a total of eight dogs. My! All of them were well-behaved, though, including the two off leash. On of those was a dachsund wearing a Texas star bandana. Her name was Dixie.

RC Cat: “Eight dogs? An invasion force! Wait. The veggie invasion is close, so maybe The German or The Molly requested reinforcements. Yes, yes. That must be it. Oh, We are chortling. How clever of your Miss Dixie to insist one be costumed as her as a decoy. A happy paw wave to you and your RC”

I see RC is being her feisty self! So glad that she and Mollie (and the German?) came to an agreement. I expect it’s in writing as a legal document of sorts. So hard ruling critters that weigh 4 times what you do. Fortunately her brain is 4 times bigger!

RC Cat: “Such a delightful comment that We are having diffculty not waving it in front of the Molly’s face. But that would be uncharitable and out of character, so We shall chortle to Ourself. A lofty paw wave sent to honor you.”

RC Cat: “Lucy and her family are quite impressive. In fact, their organization will once again be featured on a Rose Bowl float next year. They were in town recruiting dogs – and a cat or two – that demonstrated expert surfing and who were willing to compete for a place on their float. We tried to suggest surfing might be a better sport than tree climbing for the Molly to try – but she kept mumbling ‘Lizard. lizard.’ Sigh. Her chance at fame has passed. Hopefully the lizard got away, too. Those are OURS to chase. A grateful paw wave sent for you cheering comment”

RC Cat: “Most of the pups here ( and a few unfortunate or punk cats) are sporting their summer clip. A sad few had staff who shaved them practically bare, so We suppose that day was created to soothe their hurt feelings. Although it probably doesn’t make them feel better about their sunburn. A soft cheek pat for such a mirthful comment!”

RC Cat: “Oh, my dear. We urge you to resist drinking those vegggie lattes mentioned by another commenter. Vegetable can sneak up on you. Who know what can happen if one consumes them! Could leave you ornery. Be wary! Our concerned paw on your shoulder – do you feel that?”

Such kind and wise words! The Princesses Pickles and Mila are still viewing the videos so They asked me (their humble human) to convey Their thanks and appreciation for this post. They believe it to be a stellar example of the generosity of spirit for which You, RC Cat, are so well-known. The Princesses are not familiar with canines but respect their world view and history. Our Kingdom celebrated the event by barking enthusiastically at a dog who was taking his human for a walk.

RC Cat: “Ah, the Princesses. We have felt sad that Our duties have prevented Us from creating a PRincess training manual, so purrhaps that series will be of some use for your realm. Dogs have their place – outside where they can supervise the neighborhoods and exercise humans. Squirrels, you know. Can’t trust them. They are too easily mistaken for cats. Staff says the Molly keeps think squirrels are cats that are lost and need and escort back to their home. Puurhaps that is why she has expressed an interest in climbing trees recently. Such delight chatting, but you must scamper back home ( and guard against squirrel invasions) We graciously accept yout tribute. Hmmm. We feel We should create a tribute trigger sign for your realm. We shall commission something shortly. A paw wave to see you off!”
