Floating out Veggie hypothesis
Dear German,
A major grocery store mystery may have been revealed during this recent veggie invasion.
Staff is always bringing home food in packages. Like fish, nuts, raisins, and figs.
That’s weird.
I guess these fish are too cold so they don’t need to swim around and are content in the freezer.
And maybe the squirrels are entrepreneurs who gather the nuts, bag them, then sell them? Squirrels always seem too busy to play. Small businesses take a lot of time and effort.
There figs that grow on the trees across the fence, so why not just pick them? Why buy them in bags?
Does packaging subdue the wildness in veggies?
During my patrols, I’ve noticed some transformations going on with the orange vegetables invaders.
Take a look.
Some seem to be shrinking, shriveling, and drying up.
Is this where raisins come from?
Staff was overheard saying all of them would be boxed up soon.
It’s difficult to say if that’s horror or total surprise on that shriveled invader-soon-to-be raisin’s face.
On your advice, I am keeping a sharp eye on developments.
Right now it looks like the veggies’ future is up in the air.

Grinning, here. Every time I see those floating veggies, I think, “How long is it going to take her to get down here and do it?” You gone and done it! Hooray! I still remember when those went up after Ike — it fairly shrieked, “Normal is back!” Or at least lurking, just offstage.

Molly “I woof at those floating veggie – to put them on notice and to cheer them on in their high flying efforts. Everyone felt better after the hurricane seeing their return…just like the monarchs, they migrate? The pictures hardly show their grand assembly. And they’ve invited some guest speakers: a few ghosts and ghouls this year. Certainly an event. Thanks for keeping an eye on them!”

Life can be so perplexing for a canine. On the other hand, it can be blissfully simple. Perhaps she just needs a bone to chew on while she ponders the pumpkins’ fate.

Molly, “The German says it’s not true that we and the veggies have something in common: leashes. But they look free spirited and so happy. I’m grinning at them as Staff drives by – Welcoming, but not ready for a bark off quite yet. Thanks for suggesting staff serve up a special treat!”

Interesting. I’ve never, ever seen anyone decorate his or her yard this way. It’s spooky-ish. And I’m guessing labor intensive. Around here we carve 2 pumpkins, toss in a candle and call it Halloween. No fuss, not much muss. Don’t know if we’re lazy OR wise.

Molly, “Each year the assembly grows – and appears overnight. Small children stop and point. Luckily it’s on the main road so it’s easy to keep an eye on it. Thanks for parking for veggies.”

Thankfully it is vegetables and NOT fish humans decorate with! Strange rituals…

Molly, “Veggies are a longer lasting choice apparently. Worried as RC Cat loves your idea of decorating with fish…and is rushing off to make requests. She says fish would add a haunting scent. I don’t think staff will be receptive. Thanks for hanging around to comment”

Not sure I will ever understand the Halloween thing…. we eat out pumpkins not cut them up to make faces….

Awesome decorations Phil. Good thing Molly is on patrol – keeps the gourds from running. I’ve never seen pumpkins hung like that before – so cool. Happy Halloween! Molly should be puzzled by the ghosts on the run on the 31st.

Molly, “I am uncertain who to believe about Holler-Ring. RC says it’s a night of annoying noise and an early bedtime. The German shivers and says she’s hauling her bed to the bathroom just like during tornado season. Staff says visitors will come by but not for play. Not to play? Play is everything – it’s healthy! It’s fun – especially in cooler weather. Just a puzzling as floating leashed veggies. Thanks for carving out a comment.”

Paw waves Molly! Jumping up and down. Come play. No silly pumpkins or fish here. Lots of toys and shoes and clothes to play with though.
Love Snowy.

Molly, “Snowy! Paw waves! Paw waves! Lots to bark at here but no pup to share it with! We could jump and grab those floating veggies and teach them to hang around here. Your place sounds like much more fun, though. We will just be careful not to bounce off Pippa. Pippa’s like the babysitter, right? Asleep on the couch? Snowy, I’ve learned to beat the cat to the bed so she madly stomps off elsewhere…now if that window screen could be pushed open….Oh, squirrel on fence. Must go and stop that. Cool-ish front arriving and I’m a bit bouncy. Could you tell? Staff says we’re coming to visit soon. Get out the toys. Thanks for waving in. Paw waves.”

Hey my friend. Let me tell you… if I saw that ‘thing’ in your yard Halloween night – you would still hear me squealing all the way in the next state. Shivers that thing is spooky! XOXO – Bacon

Molly, ” Bacon, Staff makes us walk very fast on the other side of the street past it. But children – defenseless children – are wandering much to close. I cannot stand there 24-7 and bark warnings. Who knows what will happen Holler-Ring night? Shiver. Thanks for squealing warnings, too!”

Molly: “Mysterious beauty can be dangerous, too! Don’t stop too long in front of that house…the tons of gently waving veggies is mesmerizing. People honk ’cause they don’t want to risk lingering long there. Hovering veggies, what’s next? Do the veggies have an evacuation strategy? Or will they just turn out to be rotten. Paws down, that’s a scary thought – better to head back your way and party some more! Thanks for swooping in to chat”

Do the hanging veggies have goodies in them? If so then it might not be so bad! 😉

Molly, you have no idea how understated but close to the mark that remark is “packaging subdue the wildness in veggies”. I say rights for veges… set the free, let them be free!

Maybe we’re behind the times here because I’ve never seen floating veggies like those in my various neighborhoods! I hope Molly’s (and the German’s) Holler-Ring wasn’t too stressful!

Molly: RC said she thinks they are aliens. The German says not – they border patrol is very firm about importing vegetable. All I know is that the floating veggies seemed to have slipped their leashes and disappeared…I hope they floated off to outer space. Naps have definitely been longer right now. Thanks for floating over a comment”
