Lanterns.

Lanterns lit and placed in the stream.

Small vulnerable lights in the dark  – adrift on turbulent waters.

Lantern thoughts. Not drifting without destination or assignment.

No dreams. But not without hope.

Small challengings. Small escapes. Small endurances.

Fist raised against the storms or SOS.

Simple question, perhaps. “Here. We are here. Are you there?”

Lanterns not drifting. Purposefully sent.

Are they safe? In Hong Kong. No words have appeared.

Are they prepared? In Dallas. Waiting CDC results for Ebola.

Are they healing? How many others will need the porch lights? Danny finally laughed again.

I send lanterns.

They go like Columbus. Like Lewis and Clark. Like astronauts.

Like the monarchs: fragile – against all odds – with long journey facing.

Only instinct to guide.

Small lights defying.

Purposefully sent. Despite.

I would like to send a lantern to all people in need. I saw a professor in the news last night who said, they still have no treatment but they are prepared…. makes me shiver….

Lanterns to all at risk and those who run to help despite the risk. Quietly crossing all paws, Easy. Thanks for lifting thoughts

Yep and also discovering all emails are going to Spam and then wondering why nobody loves you for a few days has the same cathartic effect!

At my friend’s reception lanterns were sent up into the night sky. It was pretty beautiful. 🙂

There is a bit of wonder with lights ascending into the sky. Probably speaks to some long forgotten primitive instinct or collected memory?

The words & tune of Santana’s “Put Your Lights On” are now running through my head.

    “Hey now, all you sinners
Put your lights on, put your lights on
    Hey now, all you lovers
Put your lights on, put your lights on
    Hey now, all you killers
Put your lights on, put your lights on
    Hey now, all you children
Leave your lights on, you better leave your lights on
Cause there’s a monster living under my bed
    Whispering in my ear
There’s an angel, with a hand on my head
She say I’ve got nothing to fear…”

An interpretation of it is here – http://www.wattpad.com/56911058-rock-poetry-line-by-line-put-your-lights-on.

I’ve always loved that song but now your porch lights and lanterns have connected it with projecting our light and positivity into the greater world.

How could I have forgotten that song? Of course. Much appreciate you finding the lyrics and that link. Cheers for shining light, thanks.

Have you been down FM 2094? The brick house that hangs all the jack-o-lanterns in the trees just got them up again. It’s wonderful!

The lantern fairy must have done all of that on Sunday? They were all up before 7am Monday. Wish I had known about their tradition when I moved down here – we must have had over 20 since we hung them on a tree at our old house…no storage room here.
The deer eat in their back yard on misty winter mornings. They know where bright ones live.

We need all the light we can muster in this modern world of ours. It was only a matter of time before a deadly disease like Ebola reached our shores. I’m hoping this case will result in better protocols—not deaths.

Lantern thoughts – beautiful. There is so much in the world that could use lantern thoughts… so much uncertainty out there.
