Slug-a-bed

Mom. Mom. Mommeee.

“Why Lady! Fie, you slug-a-bed.”

Oh, sorry to disturb, but immediate attention requested.

You won’t believe.

Molly, no! (1867 Les Contes de Perrault.Gustave Dore1832-1883 (US PD.reprod of PD art:cr life of artist+100:Commons.wikimedia.org)

Molly, no! What’s the matter? (Note what’s going under the bed.)

You said you wanted some catch-up.

I fetched the red squeezy bottle in the kitchen so it would be ready for you.

But RC Cat was watching something on PBS.

You know she’s always trying to impress all with her sophisticated tastes.

(Which is debatable if you look at some of the things she nibbles…)

And they were talking about Matisse.

(Is that a companion of mayonnaise? I say, no.

Matisse sounds mad, not sad.)

Tres elegant. Like moi! (Matisse"Costumes.Les Ballets russes,Opera de Paris"/dalbera from Paris,France/Flickr/Commons.wikimedia.org)

RC airily proclaimed something about it being French.

A French mousie, perhaps?

She never paints a clear picture when she talks.

When the program was done, she leaped up and announced she was a famous Catisse.

Funny, none of us knew she was from France.

Although it has been said she is impressionable.

??? (Old-time Stories1921. Perrault1628-1703:Johnson1879,Robingson 1872-1944:NYC lib:US PD pub.date:artist life:Commons.wikimdedia.org)

It is Our duty is to elevate Our subjects. Get them off the floor and moving.
(Old-time Stories1921.Perrault1628-1703.Johnson1879.Robingson1872-1944/US PD pub.date/artist life/Commons.wikimdedia.org)

RC became a whirlwind of creative paws with found materials.

Fauve R Us,” she exclaimed.

“Red goes with everything.”

I don’t know about that, but it does go ON everything.

Is RC going to catch it about that cats-up?

Everyone said you ought to slug her, but she doesn’t look slow or sleepy to me. Sticky, maybe.

Maybe just a “Shoo fie! Don’t bother me.”

And hide the remote.

I’ll just wait outside.

The Molly.

(Previous post about RC Cat being left in charge here: “Cat-a-wampus”)

Worried. Who's in charge?

Worried. You won’t reveal who told, right? It’s for the common good….But if she finds out, someone will need a bed after she get through slugging.

Molly, your secret is safe. I suspect she slugs more than bugs as well. Just lay low for the time being.

Kitty controls. Maybe there should be a kitty rating system, too. One paw for general audiences, two paws for pet-owner guidance, three paws for…

Aw Mollyyyy… 😀 don’t cary if it’s lazy, I love slug-time. Oh how fluffy the covers can be. It gets even better when it’s justified by feeling under the weather and accompanied by some good shows.

A reversal of the catabolic process in the name of art? There’s no point in mollycoddling… if RC finds out she won’t be mollified 😉

Molly keeps trying to cosy up to RC who prefurrs to be aloof and elegant…without large dog nose two inches from her petiteness…the image of a windmill comes to mind. We keep assuring Molly that friendships take time…and it’s better if the mousies do not get snatched up – even if for a congenial tour of the house. Thanks for encouraging her!

RC Cat: “While We have granted citizenship to the Molly in the Realm, We continue to insist that she exhibit proper manners. Tattling is so unattractive. As is Our duty, We endeavor to enlighten Our subjects with exhibits of fine art. Perhaps We shall offer the Molly a chance to participate in Our next spontaneous art performance. We approve of your inquiry and award a soft cheek pat. You may comment on that to your friends. But do not brag about it. Our paw has waved. Adieu, mon cheri.”

Go Molly 🙂 Pippa sends encouragement in whatever you do. Snowy proudly says he can get under the bed, although for how much longer is any dog´s guess. He sends a cautious paw wave to RC as he´s not encountered cats before.

Snowy and Pippa will be pleased to know Molly is pressing her right to enter all rooms of the house. She is willing to share space – and even offers a large wet nose and a big paw in friendship. RC is taking this under advisement…Windmilling instructions to back it off just a little bit on occassion. She retreats to her loft apartment in the closet at times.
Molly has been trying to show friendship by taking mousies on tours of the house. She insists they enjoyed it – even if a bath was required afterwards.
Despite all, RC was thrilled Snowy sent a paw wave. She is telling all how clever and intelligent this young one is – already wise enough to make treaties. HRH extends a paw in friendship and welcome.

Molly is so sad RC won’t play. We keep telling her it takes time…and keeping those big paws and wet nose off small furry backs. But there is progress. They can sit within a couple of feet of each other. RC is firm about not being willing to share her toys. Thanks for stopping by
