Riotous parties!

Happy January 6th.

Could barely wait for it to arrive. (Except that means the lights will have to come down pretty soon)

A Day of Kings!….whaat? Two, not three? That’s really a world wide epiphany, no matter which.

Guess that unwanted presence overshadows the presents.

And by the very people who wail about cultural appropriation. (It sure sounds like some want it to become the US “Bastille Day” – now that was a real riot insurrection …only it belongs to France.)

Why couldn’t they schedule the rally-turned-riot for another day? – like having a parent die on Christmas Day. Ruins it. From now on January 6th will have a cloud over it…

Or maybe not. Most of the general public has little interest  – just trying to get through the week. Most ordinary people on both sides are waiting for the Freedom of Information Act for to rip open the whole mess, then the public will decide for themselves.

In any case all that glitters is not gold. (And you know I’m fishing here…)

You know about the gold fish that can drive. (Here on Motortrend). Just think, this could be solid gold!

Car under hurricane waters or somehow ended up in the river? Send in The Fish to retrieve it.

At the end of the day at the lake, had too many beers on the boat, and now worried about driving home? Hey, Fish are docked and waiting to drive you.

Retirement in Florida was great until too old to drive? Get on the line and get a fish chauffeur.

All sorts of liquid possibilities. (On the scale of things, tipping might prove to be a little flaky, though)

Hurry in now to hook a fin franchise.

Always trying to make a splash.

Well, dang! . . . you done gone and reminded people about what happened last year today!

. . . how are we supposed to forget if we keep getting reminded?

Turn off the TV. Don’t click on any news story. GAG.
Surely there is something going on somewhere – in other parts of the world – somewhere.
Even the fish are trying to escape….that’s the real motivation with the driver’s lessons.
How about a reminder of what’s really important?

Dogs know when and where to put their efforts where so makes a difference.
      Thanks for poking the fire!

I don’t have a TV that gets reception or cable, so, no news for me. I don’t poke on ‘news’ stories . . . the only reminder I had today was . . . from your blog.

OMG – it was everywhere in blogs – you must have a much more sophisticated blog list.
So annoying. It’s Three Kings Day all over…but here that’s been obscured by politics and theatrics. Fumed a bit ’til posted a late post. Note to elected officials (who are sending emails to their constituents locally ) please stop “praying” about it. All to appear virtuous – we know you only use religion when you want to score points with certain groups….
We love our diverse festivals/foods and parties here – keep you darn mitts off.
(Who can believe the birthplace of MS 13 could come up with a positive/practical method to fight covid. Listen up Fauci and Joe…..

Well, I don’t follow many blogs. Also, I dropped out of Facebook and Twitter.

I did see a couple of headlines yesterday . . . but didn’t click on the stories.

By the way, I also don’t listen to Fauci and Joe. I hear about them because people seem invested in telling me about what they don’t like (and sometimes what they like) about what they said. They assume I care, and I don’t.

Got nothing against them (people, Fauci, or Joe), but I prefer my COVID news from researchers and non-political sources.

Most people right now don’t have their heads on straight. They complain, they rant, rave . . . that’s not an action plan.

As far as exercise, that’s nothing new . . . but, guess what? Nobody listens. They will point to the article, say “See!, See!!” . . . but not change their habits.

The CDC, NIH, the government, doctors . . . they all say we need to exercise more, eat less, sleep more, not get worked up, and they have done so for decades. And the “obesity epidemic” — with associated complications — keeps on rolling.

. . . We’re in January . . . that means the gyms will have a few more people in them — for about a week, maybe two. Around here, likely unvaccinated people, inside, not wearing masks.

Then, after that, back to same-old, same-old; always ‘tomorrow’ when they will exercise, eat better, stop all them unhealthy habits that feel good.

I don’t wish anyone ill, but it’s difficult feeling bad for some people.

Today is the traditional last day of Christmas. Feast of the Epiphany, anyone? Supposedly if you take down your Christmas decorations before today you’ll have bad luck. So there.

So true. January 6, 2021, was a day of infamy, just like December 7, 1941.

More like another day of naivety and stupid
(At least they could have been more considerate about the date…and brought gold, myrrh, and fruitcake – wait maybe no, those darn things are heavy and might be hazardous….)
(I tried to leave a comment on your “Yea, we have processes, let’s use them instead of chaos” post which I applauded. (Wp was being cranky. Hope Pres. got the date right this time in speech…”we all have hopes for 2020″ did not play well in his last speech. Typo on teleprompter, no doubt. Sigh. credibility. Sigh)
      Thanks for partying along here

You know how many like to read both ends of the spectrum for news? The truth usually lies somewhere in the middle.
Ran across this…take the time to read. Does talk about the participants, violence and the deaths.

We must insist all the security/evidence videos and collected documents be released/Freedom of Information Act style – to the general public. They do that with police incidents, and it is certainly warranted- or else conspiracy theories from both ends will gain traction.
A bit disturbing. Just thought you might be interested.

Or, if you tell folks you follow the custom as in most of Colorado, lights stay up till the end of the Denver Stock Show (National Western Stock Show in Denver, Jan 8 – 23rd). Gets you a couple more weeks anyway– Might’ve thought them to train Clownfish over goldfish

Last year I kept them up/in the flowerbeds until Feb’s big freeze…and that always keeps the plants happy and would have worked had there been power. With weather alternating temps in the 70’s, I’m risking the early Moving of the Lights.
Clownfish. That’s perfect. Wish I had thought of it! Thanks for floating that comment over here

Another fish story! I feel like we have been swimming upstream for decades. It’s important to separate the barracudas from the trout, however when choosing a fish to drive your car! 🙂 –Curt

I’ll stick with Jan. 6 being Epiphany and yes, I still have my decorations up, although I didn’t know there was bad luck involved. It just takes so much time to put them up and they look so good, that I don’t want to take them down yet…and taking them down and putting them away is much less fun that putting them up/out. 🙂 I’ve been known to leave them up until the end of the month, but I think they’ll be coming down in bits and pieces soon.

Happy New Year! Meet the new year, hopefully not the same as the old year.

Honestly, I think most people have shrugged and walked on.
And not towards taking down the lights and decorations. They are cheerful…and it isn’t much fun taking them down. Have to hurry and get the strings into the garage while they are dry before the next front’s rain…lights not so cheery draped all around the garage…and Sr Staff gets cranky about it.
Yes, cheers and Happy New Year of fun for one and all!
