What’s driving this craziness?

A recent note sent home from a friend’s child’s preschool:

“While we are excited to have a fun hair day tomorrow, our Social Justice and Diversity Coalition received thoughtful parent feedback that made us pause.  After our Leadership Team reflected about inclusion and how “Crazy” hair day might inadvertently send the wrong message to our students and within our community, we have decided to shift the name of the day to be more reflective of the intended spirit.  For now, we will call it “Creative Hair Day,” to place it in a more positive light….” and it went on for 2 more paragraphs…

Not one single thought that this “fun hair day” is insensitive to “creative” individuals!

To suggest they are wacky or something “funny” (Ha Ha or peculiar) – to single them out as different and out of everyday acceptance and expectations.

Well, I never.

I’d be crazy to include that video as it would guarantee a wide spread pandemic of ear worm.
