Snow, what? Long distance paws
Dear Molly Malamute,
As you can see, snow, it goes
At times wistfully longing for those days of lounging in the warmth of your backyard. The sun is bright and strong in the high altitude air here, so melt happens.
As you see, I am back on the job watching over my young charge. This is the nearest park with all sorts of obstacles to see around.
Can’t say I miss the heat and humidity. It’s awesome here for dogs.
Pretty cool for stuff for people, too. Need to show a Driver’s License? There’s an app for that. Simply pull out your cell phone.
“Will your driver’s license soon be on your phone?” (Video)
The only thing is, well, you know Person’s history with having stuff stolen and dropping cell phones. (“It only takes 3-4 days to get a new license up loaded and into the system…”). Well, she’ll just have to keep me close then as her ID.
I’m getting new necklace charms! Unexpected jewelry is always endearing. I vote for the dog bone shaped one, but probably won’t be able to paw in the request on the machine fast enough. As long as it says “here’s my home”, it will be OK with me. Person says I have to give up the old one. Apparently dogs don’t get to keep a charm bracelet collection. But as any sophisticate knows, a single ornament is true understated elegance.
Speaking of elegance, I’m working on my poses for the holiday pictures. What do you think?
Keep tearing up the artificial grass at the play place…I always felt a little guilty about the condition of the grass in your backyard after we had so much fun. Those dirt clods really fly down there when it’s wet!
Paw waves (and OK give a respectful puppy bow to RC Cat for me in return for her kindness in allowing me to stay there for a bit. And tell Staff the meals there were tummy wonderful – good I packed on a few pounds for extra warmth here.)
Paws for peace (I’m adopting The German’s closing. She was always on point.)

I hope I can keep my normal license… if the officer is as smart as me with smart phones we will spend a lifetime on a highway to present it ;O)

Staff: with my luck, my smart phone would run outta battery just when I needed to flash a license. (Bet authorities would say “Heard that one before, outta the car…”) Thanks for voting for print!

I don’t want my driver’s license on my cell phone. I barely want my cell phone. This is the kind of progress that makes me snarl.

Looks like every one is settled in. Snow? The grandkids in Denver had had a lot of snow this fall. I’m not quite ready yet.

They’ve been sort of camping out indoors with minimum furniture, but their truck unloading now. Snow induced kid hyper activity with that snowfall. (How funny – we may have to meet there sometime and exchange g.kid pictures. It’s 80 here but plants are huddling up in prep for the weekend’s front, Rollercoaser weather season….so not ready for coaxing the palms into their winter jackets!)

License on a phone? I don’t think so. For one thing, I don’t believe my reliable Samsung flip phone will do that sort of trick. As far as I know, we haven’t reached the point where the gov’ment can mandate a smart phone for me. Guess I’m part of the resistance — just a different resistance than most people think of.
That snow looks so, so beautiful. Then, I remember… With snow, comes cold. On the other hand, there have been times when I’ve thought, “If we have to have cold, at least we should be able to get some snow with it. Or Sneaux. That would do.”

Here in Okieland we don’t even have them there government compliant driver’s licenses. Deadline to comply is less than a year from now and the supposed software to get us compliant won’t be available until next April, and even then at only four locations across the state. By October all tag offices should have the ability to produce compliant dirver’s licenses, but that’s only a month before the deadline.. Our last governor did a slip shod job all around – we’ve had a couple of years to get compliant with the rest of the country. We’s just bumpkins I guess. Lucky me, I got me one of them thar passports which will git me around just fine!
I think the NW part of our state has seen a little snow this last week. We’ve had several bouts of bitter cold weather already. Our propane fella isn’t too worried about global warming… said business is up this year. 😀

Snow! Wow. We’ve had “snow showers” and flurries 4 times already but nothing measurable yet. Lovely shot!
Great fun for dogs who can play in it. Lots of leaping and flake-snuffling! The Princesses watch from indoor perches, intrigued but probably not eager to explore fluffy ice. Ella Bella is gorgeous! And The German! Stunning! Licenses on phones, car insurance on phones, vehicle registrations on phones – ugh. I “get” it; the concept is sound but technology falters so often (and is so expensive!) that implementation scares me. Fortunately, we’re not participating yet here. ::shivers::
