Nagging and a Porsche stalled.

A conversation overheard:

“While I’ve always admired the Palomino look, this isn’t exactly the sun-streaked pony tail of my dreams”

“Fell for the old ‘It’s a new year, how about a new you’? Craved show horse bling, myself. Maybe a touch of frosted around the ears to frame the face. It may be organic and natural as the rich and famous promote, but far too chillin’ for me.”

“Can already hear the horselaughs from the Budweiser Clydesdales. Celebrities don’t live like the rest of us.”

This is the end. (Should have wrapped up with a blanket instead.) (© image)

Stick around. Good to have one when it’s 28 degrees F. at the ranch in N Central TX.(©image)

Speaking of expectations dashed, some fancy car owners will not accept any little thing not working right.

This owner of a 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo S was quick to complain to the National Highway Safety Transportation Board: (And in all caps, no less..)

“I WAS PULLING INTO MY GARAGE AND NEARLY RAN OVER MY WIFE DUE TO THE GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD . THIS CAR HAS A VERY LIGHT COLORED DASH TOP. THE GARAGE WAS SHADED BUT THIS WAS A BRIGHT SUNNY DAY.”

Seriously.

Thoughts?

  1. Have the local police been out there for a welfare check on the wife?
  2. Dude, you don’t deserve this car. Give it to me.

Loved WC Fields! I’ve heard about your weather. We’ve been unseasonably warm with no snow. I’m ok with no snow although it’s hard on the ski resorts. Maybe it could just snow there. Maybe that driver needs those yellow lens glasses or maybe he should stick to bicycles.

Don’t know whether to blame the multiple volcanoes or the Polar Vortex splitting into 3’s for the weather – family in N. Colorado says they’ve little/no snow while SIL in N central TX says they’ve had 3 snowfalls so far – they usually get a bit of snow, but it usually doesn’t arrive until late January. We even had a few snow flakes in Nov this far south. Snow belongs on ski slopes – icy roads are not fun.
We just chuckle over that “safety issue” complaint. Maybe the dealer can offer those yellow glasses as an accessory…put a Porsche logo on them and charge a bunch then everyone would have to have a pair!
Thanks for driving in with that great solution

Personally, I’m ready for this weather to stop horsing around and warm up. Sunshine’s a good start, but a few more degrees would be better.

This afternoon should have cheered you up! Even your little green frog guy must have been sunning today
Molly’s doggy playground was jammed with leaping and jousting ecstatic dogs. I think I saw one of the Kemah eagles. Everyone was out. Hopefully tomorrow will be just as nice.Get out while you can!
Thanks for driving a comment over this way

Hey that glare from the sun can surely cause troubles! I set out this morning to hit Walmart early, and the sun was finally out (it’s been overcast for days) and the bright sun glared, bouncing off sparkly snow and ice… well, it made driving a challenge. It’ll be worse as the snow melts and passing vehicles splatter grime on windshields. GAH!!! I’m glad I got out before the melt started and the snow and ice were still crunchy making for good traction!!

You have as much sun glare as we do (and that guy was from this area) Gearhead here always insist on a black dashboard – preferably matte black to avoid reflective glare…and woe to anyone who tosses a grocery list or white page – even for a minute.
Snow is great – on ski slope or outside the window when you don’t have to get out.
The year’s off to a wintery start. Take care and thanks for skidding in here to chat

The slope behind our home makes for great hillbilly skiing! It takes a bit of skill though, to keep from hitting a tree or the dry rock creek at the bottom!

That tail is more than a butt warmer, it’s a fly swatter!

You know how annoying those summer swarms of bugs can be – horses have humans beat in adaptations to combat that!

I think he was complaining because he only ‘nearly ran over my wife’, probably needed the insurance to pay for the car.

Eastbound 1-70 was actually closed this morning for about 45 minutes because of sun glare! And yes, I’ve had cars where glare off the dashboard made it hard to see (that was the one time I allowed the cash wash people to use ArmorAll on the dashboard.). BTW, it was 62 here today (Denver).

That’s the problem with rain when the sun finally comes out it’ll probably shine right in my eye.

No matter what the weather, it is always a topic of discussion. I wish there was more horse sense and less none sense, especially in D.C..

    Too much rain. ((((soggy hugs))))
Had to laugh about the dimwit with the Porsche. Would you mind an anecdote? I used to work at a manufacturing plant. Big place, large parking lots. One day at a safety meeting an employee annouced that he’d already submitted a complaint to corporate bec the sun rose over the warehouse roof just as he tried to park his car, thereby temporarily blinding him and forcing him to damage the adjacent car. “Management needs to do something about the sun coming up over that roof.” THAT’s what he said to corporate.
    Anyway, Happy New Year!
