Despite first glance, maybe not suitable for School Character Education programs…Fake news: no way he could be carrying that huge dead and blood dripping bird as casually as shown. And he looks far too happy about it – possible animal humane rights violation or wait..is he really leering at the girl? The turkey is merely a ploy…She’s better have a hat pin in that Bible.(Side note: remember when “Character Education” was demonstrating knowledge of the current people in scripts of movies and tv shows? Is he trying to pet the turkey or “Na-na-na-na-na-I know what’s going to happen with you” followed by motions of throat slashing and chop chopping? Yep, the whole lot of them have trotted over for Thanksgiving…and none of them know how to hang up a towel, put a dish in the dishwasher, or feed the dog…their dog! Yeah, hardy har har to you, too. (post card 1900’s (USPD/Commons.wikimedia.org.)
Oh, those spots? RC Cat said she had to sample and approve the pie but was disappointed that mincemeat didn’t really mean minced meat (and she was worried she had somehow been tricked into eating carrots)…Malamute Molly misunderstood: Someone said “meat” – so where’s the beef? Staff can identify…never trusted that weird pie that showed up only at Thanksgiving, so pecan is what’s on the menu here. Just let me brush off this little bit of cat hair and I’ll cut you a slice…you know where the dishwasher is, right? We’re hosting the mob here, so childproofing and organizing to accommodate those who wear aluminum foil hats to stop the government from controlling them. Whether you are going over the river and through the woods, gearing up for football viewing, or just having an ordinary day, hope you are served some chillin’ with warmth. Family has wild turkeys on their ranch. A much rougher looking crowd…not gonna trait out and pet them…do you think their rugged appearance is evolutionary to make sure people leave them alone? HAHA
Thanks for gobbling along ( and once I get he dog/cat hair tumbleweed raked and there house sort of presentable, I’ll have time to party with you guys…and there’s always a festive occasion going one there! Pawsome!)

One year my brother brought a mincemeat pie instead of pumpkin. No one but he ate it and he was subject to a lot of abuse over the years. We don’t let him bring desert anymore. Mincemeat pie. What’s next? Fruit cake? We raked the cat hair yesterday although the crew is busy trying to make it homey again. Have a great day!

Right now I’m questioning the whole “Let’s clean and polish the wood floors/house…the clouds are back, rain is imminent..can’t we just say “OH, you should have seen the floors Wed before the rain arrive?” …they would never know the difference…
One of the first Thanksgiving with Brother’s new wife, she made mince meat pie…with real meat(it took forever to make – I’m sure her mother would have been proud.)…we were like, polite but stunned – everyone here knows in the SW, mincemeat pie is a fruit pie (with raisins and other dark fruits and nuts) – it’s fruit pie named wrong!!! We had to eat it anyway…once…

(Dust the blinds, too? Good reason to put off Spring cleaning until fall holiday visits…we just clean around the cat who is seriously contemplating the universe or cure for some deadly disease or something…)

I confess that I’m a fan of mincemeat pie — but I always go for the version with no meat, some rum, and added apples and raisins. The cat hair on the pie reference cracked me up, and reminded me of the year I discovered cat prints across the top of my pumpkin pie. Obviously, I did the only thing possible: I covered them up with whipped cream.

The size of that turkey would be a Guinness record, Phil. As for mince meat, the lack of meat is modern. When I was growing up, there was still meat in the mice meat! RC would have been happy. 🙂 –Curt
