Different wave lengths

Mischievous little boy and dancing dog. (USPD. Artist life, pub.date/Commons.wikimedia.org)

“Hey, company won’t be here for an hour. Let’s go see what we can dig up. People love dirt and organics. We can bring samples to share!” (USPD/Commons.wikimedia.org)

Children: rainbows :: Artificial Intelligence : __

If children are rainbows –

  • unpredictable
  • mercurial
  • unfathomable
  • frequently chased after – curvilinear and never going in a straight line
  • hard to hold
  • high energy
  • Electric awashed with H2O

Then what would AI be?

  • Fog so dense it hides what’s behind it?
  • A meandering mist seeping in among thoughts, feelings and actions?
  • A fluffy white cloud unreachable in the sky?
  • Dependent on jolts of electricity for movement and rumination
  • Constantly demanding large inputs of information
  • Most happy with patterns and routines
  • Occasionally breaking down and needing a time out.

If children are rainbows, then AI might be an oil painter’s palette?

Little cousins playing parallel. Under watchful eyes.

Both learning and growing; open-ended, they race.

Their over-the-rainbows viewed through different lenses in time and space.

Unwritten slate with much on the plate.

Arrived undercover of cardboard. An industrial sort who’s skilled at keeping things apart and in place. Somehow he mistook our joy at the arrival of his charge as “Welcome. Have a seat and stay awhile.”. Such a softy. He may be a bit plastic, but he’s flexible and opens up to new experiences. Sigh. Always room for one more…. but manners please. Hat off at the table.(© image)

I bet he came with a friend. It’s nice that you invited him to stay! Most times they end up homeless.

He keeps saying he’s flexible and can be useful – he’s skilled in keeping things separated….(any chance the might work with the dog and cat? Between the rain and the excessive heat, everyone’s getting cabin fever…)
Thanks for adding a welcoming remark

We worry he’s like a stray kitten that shows up on the porch – what are you going to do?
Thanks for your observation and warning!

Guess I’ve been a recluse too long. Have no idea what that second picture is.

It chaperoned a boxed delivery…and made no effort to call Uber or FedEx for a ride back…and now we aren’t sure what it is expecting (See previous post picture of it at the table). Hope it’s not like stay kittens that show up at your door…Thanks for shuffling a comment this way

I don’t think Al would last long in this household. Two furchildren who play too rough.
