Spring loaded and ready to bounce.

Fairy Queen among adoring subjects. 1916 Russian Story Book by R. Wilson, Illiustrated by Frank C. Pape/ USPD. pub.date/gutenberg project/Commons.wikimedia.org)

Your distress has been heard. We have arrived to offer assistance.(USPD/Commons.wikimedia.org)

Why the rush to become basket cases?

Blame pollen. When fresh air is contaminated, brains struggle.

Sleep, the only remedy so, of course, powers-that-bee decided to add another stinger with Daylight Savings Time. With that manipulation, ALL certainly require saving: both day and night.

Although Night Saving Time seems to be less popular.

Possibly due to fear of after hours at the ATMs in large cities.

And add to that all the talk of springs. Another example of seasonal addled thinking. Who uses springs anymore?

Everyone has fallen into memory foam.

Which, if memory serves well, is quite the snooze zone.

And snoozing is what We, in Our catnip mousie haze infinite wisdom, feel all should be practicing in preparation for the annual marching madness to try and dictate to internal clocks when breakfast should occur.

It is not hard. Sun up. Time to eat.

Some cannot leave well enough alone. It is still a mystery why such a species was given the thumbs.

As a kindness, there to your left, are piles of fleece. One per individual. (We said ONE! Thank you. Yes, of course you were getting it for another…)

Settle into a comfortable position and We shall wander among you – offering a neck massage here and a shoulder kneading there to help with relaxation and release of stress.

WHAT? How dare you mumble about not wanting to be itchy from fleece.

Our fleece are high quality blankies washed with great care so the wrappee may Dreft off to Lullasigh Land.

“He who lies down with fleece get up rested as a dog.” A famous line. Someone said that.

Now Yoda-like breathing: small and wise. Shhhh.

Do not worry. The Realm is equipped with HEPA air filters.

Pay no mind to the dog hair tumbleweeds attached to the machine. Simply adds an extra filtration layer.

Upon waking, the fleece is not a souvenir for Savings Times meditations. Staff stands by door with two hands waiting: one for fleece and one for your Tribute of Thanks.

Do not risk it. (USPD/Commons.wikimedia.org)

Do not neglect to leave the open can of cat food in the doorway as tribute .

Especially after Our kindness in your Time of Needless Saving.

Be mindful.

Mindful we know where you blog and where your shoes are…

We took notes as you napped. And a couple of shoes we found cozy.

Barefooting it is back to nature. You’ll thank Us.

What? Daylight saving time? Lemme go look.

Sure enough. When i click my little clock at the bottom of my screen, there’s a prim little announcement that my clock WILL be changed this coming Sunday. I wish they would stop with the foolishness, already. It takes me over a week to adjust when we go one way or the other, but now I can’t remember if it’s spring or fall that gives me problems. I guess I’ll find out this weekend.

RC Cat: “It appears the RC of your Realm is intentionally withholding information from you. Early morning batting should be occurring as training these predawn mornings. She must be miffed and punishing you for neglecting to secure Valentines mousies. You will have another chance to redeem yourself shortly. Do not waste haste. Or she’s just given up on you and is snoozing in preparation herself and letting you suffer the consequences of light unawareness. Everyone needs to lighten up these days. A paw wave in encouragement.”

We are ready for DSL in this house. It’s light early so the cats, who work on natural light, are up and ready for breakfast before we are. (They get very noisy about it too!) Maybe with the reset this weekend, we’ll all get up at the same time? Nope, probably not.

Is it already time to change clocks again? I’ve been so seasonally confused with the nice weather we had most of the winter that I no longer recognize when spring will actually be here!

My feeling is Daylight Savings Time, if it needs to exist at all which I think not, should not be implemented until later in Spring. Come Monday morning children will be navigating in the dark trying to get their buses. Adults will be struggling to awake in the dark after several weeks of arising to sunshine. It makes no sense to me they extended it as they did. RC, a six pack of open cans as tribute…if you “can” do anything to bring some sanity to time that would be a good time indeed.

The spring loaded unboxing of children occurs the week after the Spring Time Savings plan….although having them loose doesn’t seem like a time saver idea for parents.A gracious cheek pat for your kind words. To make it more confusing, not everyone goes on DST. I know Arizona doesn’t. Makes it harder for me to remember when i can safely call my parents. 🙂 It amuses me to read about people who thing there’s more daylight during DST. Sigh. But I’m ready to spring ahead this weekend. As for falling on memory foam, I think not. That stuff is hard until you’ve already been on it for a bit and I would avoid falling on it if at all possible.

I didn’t know I was a redneck until, every time I put on shoes, Lexi knew we were going somewhere, even if it was just the back yard. 🙂

RC Cat: “Oh, dear. All this time saving has people so confuse they forget to protect tender necks. Seems many remember to protect against red toes and red backs early in the spring, but the back of necks is often forgotten. Dog are of no help in these matters. Party, party, party is all they think of. We can do little sometimes. A gentle cheek pat so as not to ouchie your neck…and a stern look to encourage Lexi to train her staff better. Oh, and a paw wave. We cannot be stern for too long. Au revoir.”

I think daylight savings time is ridiculous. The spring change is an easier adjustment for me (farm girls are always ready to rise and shine!), but the fall one has me sleepless for weeks.

RC Cat: Once when a young kit, We tried to save time, but it simply slipped away quietly when we went to sleep. Sleep is what needs saving, We think. Oh, your plight encourages Us to work on Our instructional pamphlet titled “Sleep, not weep”. Yes, yes. That must be completed quickly to save mind. Perhaps after Our cat nap (which is a brain exercise). We hope the sun lightly shines just right on you this week. A kindly paw wave in your direction”

RC Cat. It’s tonight. But while the dog is not a morning person and likes to sleep in, by sunrise We are very hungry after a long night of bug bapping on windows…June bugs are already out. (All this grey and rain for days on end makes staff so sleepy no matter the saving of time.) A cheery wide awake paw wave to you.

RC … thanks for looking out after me regarding the spring forward of clocks. But now I have to remember until tomorrow night. But the good news is that pollen has little effect on me and I won’t compete for your cat food … well, unless it’s fresh shrimp.
