An old clock

Not that old as it uses batteries just like some people to keep running

Happy with its’ tick tick tick

Which reminds not to just sit sit sit

Timely. Fleet. Beat.

But it’s stopped late ‘mid race

Not sure if that’s intended to be a battery of prophecy, profits, or punch line.

Can you see me now? (Please don’t break her heart. She spent time devising this plan. Of course we’ll be lucky if there’s any squirrels left in the area after the strong winds yesterday. Time to go out and clean the far-flung fronds and branches. It’s like the trees gave up and said “Take them and leaf us alone.)©

Time is money. Must go home and wind up all my old clocks. Wind was crazy here yesterday too with many small branches to pick up and one large limb to cut up. Clever camouflage!

I wish I had kept my dad’s ancient worn wind up clock. It had taken minutes of the years.
We were glad our palms were well established and we’d grown them from 2 feet tall. Never seen such swaying and bending. With all the soggy ground, some large trees have bound to have let go and crashed. How’s the bird population there? A day or two before that big wind, huge flocks coming in to spend the night win the wetlands then took off early the next morning. Lots of information in the sky?

We are getting the winds today. Yuk! Creepy in an Edgar Allen Poe way. Molly…so gorgeous!

They were shake the car wild winds. Lots of raking and picking up to do today…but it’s sunny so works for me! Stay safe (and sorry about the mud Molly flung in her happy paw wave salute)

Molly’s got that camouflage thing nailed down! Love this post, wonderful quotes, too. We can’t save time, waste time, make time, give time, take time. It’s just the fickle perception of our imaginations, codified. I’m waiting for the clock that can keep track of “time” in dimensions other than our own.

We wouldn’t have been surprised to see a squirrel surfing the wind yesterday on a palm frond. Molly is fretting the they may have been blown all the way to Galveston…and that we should go look for them…yes? Warm and sunny for 2 days. Should make time for that. Thanks for heading in this direction to spend some time

There’s a lot of wisdom in those time quotes. Thanks for sharing them. I especially like Lao Tzu’s. It’s a good reminder for us all.

Did you ever notice there’s an “I” and “me” in “time”? Weird is’t it? Guess the inventors wanted everyone who invented it HAHA
      Thanks for spending time here

I vaguely remember Coco being interviewed back in the BW TV days. She was fashion. (Wish I could find some of that old interview footage – probably would be intriguing as well as enlightening)
She had another one “Gentleness gets little done – unless you are a hen laying eggs” something like that – she certainly was a star in a tough industry.
Cheers for sorting and grouping effort and tasks. Thanks for taking time to chat

I’ve only seen her in photographs. I’d enjoy seeing her speak. Never thought of her as being young enough to have been on TV. Intriguing.

While she was actually proved to be a Nazi sympathizer/activist, she was quite a force in the male dominated industry. She said things like “a woman without perfume has no future” – she also was adamant about speaking up, dreaming big, and not accepting failure. I think she died in the early 70’s.

Does it remind you of the beginning of Wizard of Oz? Let’s hope it all passes through leaving little mess and damage. (And if you see any confused squirrels that look they are from out of town, put them on a bus back here, OK?) Thanks for swooping in with a comment

Oh, my. Maybe the indoor camouflage idea was why she was trying to hang onto the Chewy’s box after the last shipment of food and Greenies. What better than a dog occupied box sneaking up to the treat jar? Thanks for the tricky comment!

Molly is certainly branching out these days. We got pounded with wind and rain yesterday. Anytime a storm comes up along the East Coast it immediately becomes a “Nor’easter” regardless of its intensity. (Gets more views and clicks that way!) That being said yesterday’s was in fact the real deal. If this had been snow we’d have a couple feet out there. As it stands we have a couple feet of branches, twigs, etc. The live Christmas tree was supposed to reside on the side of the house until recycling day but the winds decided to take it on a tour of the development before I got it better secured.

Sure sounds like a plot for a children’s book: “The runaway Christmas tree that tried to go home again….”
(It’s batten down the hatches before Super Bowl…yesterday they hauled a Mars space rover and assorted space relics from the Space Center in Clear Lake up the freeway (2 lanes occupied) to the park area near the convention center where a lot of NFL activities will be going on. “Have an out of this world time!” Ready for launch….)
Thanks for picking things up with a sticky comment!

I think she’s working on the general ‘move fast as a blur’ strategy. As she is slow and getting older, this is probably not an effective strategy (and has yet to work, including in her younger days).

My own advice about time, offered to the “I don’t have enough time to…” crowd? We have all the time there is. The only question is what we do with it.

And then there’s this, from Leonard Bernstein: “To achieve great things, two things are needed ~ a plan, and not quite enough time.”

Old rural saying: “There’s always time for important things.”
The trick could be learning how to grab bits of time and hiding them for later? But you can’t forget where you stashed it.(I’ve done that, I think)..or tell anyone else you’ve got some extra.
Thanks for measuring out a timely comment
