Ringers: creating space.

Girls in vintage gym clothes holding up hoops. 1957. (German Federal Archives.Bundesarchiv,Bild 183-48070-0004/Commons.wikimedia.org)

What goes around circles back…except maybe for gym bloomers like these. The white bands were so tormenting coaches could yell if posture wasn’t perfect or stomach not sucked in.(1957.Commons.wikimedia.org)

Bluffing, strutting, loud loyalties, and win-at-all-cost attitudes. Both of them.

Although one competition is featuring more vicious trash talk than usual this year.

Ring me when it’s over.

Had enough of sandy and verbal volleys last time around.

Faced with a choice of these games, Olympics or Presidential, it’s easy: Click.

Ever wonder who are those people who actually live without mesmerizing screens?

Might be surprised to discover they are from both ends of the society.

That’s promising: actual common ground for liberal and conservative.

(Wondering: Any chance opposites really could attract rather than attack?)

Some even manage to escape servitude to cell phones.

Seriously, if it’s important, they will leave a message or call back. It’s a request to speak with you, not a bossy command.

Freedom of choice. A quality of life thing.

Besides, the people right in front of you might not be there next time you look up.

Instant communication and information grows like piles of laundry: never never stops.

Sticky stinky situation. Ring around the collar that makes you want to wisk away.

Spaced. Need to make time for that. Super Perseid Meteor Shower peaks in August.(USPD/Commons.wikimedia.org)

So like many bloggers, I’m going to hit pause until the end of August. Appreciate your understanding. Don’t be surprised if I pop in to read a few blogs, though.

Will be back to jump through hoops and ready to run rings around things after that.

Phil, the Philosopher Mouse of the Hedge.

Leaving you with a laugh ’cause I know there’s no way to collar most of you to click the link above. Gotta love that parrot…and being a little flip.

I like the idea of this bar… hope the guests like it too :o) I had a classmate who had no tv at home… butt much books… she often felt left out when we talked about lassie, dusty and the little rascals…I was sad for her, but today I understand her parents :o)

Way back then theythought sitting too close to the TV would ruin your eyes. Mom used to get a tape measure and check the distance between us and the TV. (But we never watched that much as it was hot inside and cooler playing outside or the city pool.) Now the screens are inches from faces sometimes.
Parents have a hard time now – kids have to watch some shows to “fit in” and be social, but not too many. When we were little, no TV in a house meant those people were “intellectuals” and maybe you shouldn’t be so quick to ridicule them. Now people would suspect anyone without a TV or computer are a cult or something HA HA.
Thanks for slipping the leash and running by to visit, Easy!

Enjoy your break, my friend and …be sure to keep Dr.Smith clear if you wish to enjoy the Perseid Meteor Shower! 🙂
Oh, and off hand, I’d pick the lizards and NASA! 😉

I haven’t checked the necks on my shirts in decades. I wonder if they are clean….

Do you think that ad disappeared because someone strangled the parrot? Oh, the wonders of modern fabrics..less need for tooth brush scrubbing to pre-clean collars. Do you think anyone even knows how to home wash and iron white office worthy shirts anymore? Progess means some skills are lost HA HA. Thanks for sedning over a smooth comment

Summer breezes are still, so seems like a good time for quiet. Thanks for adding a comment to this circle

RC voted to evict the two visiting shepherds. You know, 3 days and fishy stink. Now to clean up the mess and then enjoy some time doing nothing. (Yeah, like that luxury will last long) Thanks for the astute observation and comment

“It’s a request to speak with you, not a bossy command.” sigh, why don’t more folks see it that way?
Enjoy the rest and break from it all.

Have you seen the commercial for some Internet company where the family panics because their Internet is down. It is rather sickening. They all freak out. It ends with the mom watching their neighbor watching a cute cat video through binoculars out their kitchen window. I say bravo to the bar blocking cell coverage. Come on people, talk to each other!

    Enjoy your break!

There’s a series of those commercials. Lack of cat video do make some people nuts…we would be so easy to conquer and control. I’d worry about alien invasions, but they probably tuned in, saw the TV screens, and quickly fled HA HA. (I actually sat down and read a book – a whole book! And had lunch with real people, OK blogger, but there were no screens or blogs present.) Thanks for jingling along
