Briefly, that’s it. The rapid fire world prefers just a few lines. Quick eyes have it.
You knew short would dominate sooner or later – and it’s not just since they are small you can feed them less. The little one can be pretty heavy, too.
If poetry is the best thoughts of the best minds in the best order, then Haiku is one of the highest forms: simple, yet complex requiring effort by author and audience.
Short and sweet, intense or bitter. Without a second glance, you’ll never know.
The fine lines of cartoons are much the same.
Cartoons are the haiku of the fine arts world: deceptively simple, interpretation optional.

They didn’t forget. Florida has always been popular for retirees. These ready to leave the jungle of work for a more fitting one (Pedicures and spa baths still included, but without the gawkers.) “Back to Florida: Ringling Bros. circus elephants to retire after May 1 shows”
A little grain of advice offered to these lucky elephants: be warned. Once you relocate to Florida, relatives seem to come out of the jungle and invite themselves for extended stays. (But it may take that rhino a while to get there on that trike.)

Animals know how to party and make people smile. Bob said a nod to haiku and a grin for limericks, too. Molly of course is more of a wild thinking free verse sort. Poetry and cartoons – something for everyone. Thanks for pondering along

Haiku and cartoon – the abridged version of art and poetry – love this post Phil. I was pleased to hear the elephant’s are being retired. Must have been a tough life for them. Once saw them in Boston where they arrived south of the city and then were marched north to the Boston Garden arena for shows. I doubt they will miss all the hoopla.

Oddly the two have so much in common. (And who couldn’t smile at that rhino…better than all the political cartoons right now. I think Peanuts should be read and taught in schools.)
Considering that elephants are social creatures and develop communities, traveling must have been difficult. Nothing better than enjoying the spring grass between toes. Good for all. Thanks for tossing a comment into this ring

Ride on little rhino!
It seems like school into heavily into long, dense, wordy, and flowery poetry when it is taught. But there’s all sorts out there, why poison everyone with the sickening sweet or overly dramatic stuff? Someday you may find the poetry dish that hits the spot in the literary buffet. Much of poetry is short – you can hit and run and not get charged. Thanks for reaching this comment parking lot.
