Stately. Distant. Mysterious.

Draped with grand dignity or great dread. (Certainly not talking to the likes of we. Most likely viewed as simple hanger-oners.)

Of such standing, they breeze above daily common concerns. Would that we all.

Vape at home. Between the batteries and suspect chemicals in the aerosol cans, e-cigs banned.

Might actually prevent some fist fights on board. Seen the snotty combative glares between users and non users?

Give Mom a break. Let her go shopping instead of helicoptering.

The statewide Great Texas Warrant Round-up has begun. Cops gather up all the outstanding warrants and chase down the ones involved at work or play and to haul them to jail and a judge.

Public service announcements have been running all week about “Come on down and pay up now.” The courts are happy to offer payment programs if needed or will substitute public service for those unable to pay fines or fees. As you can imagine, courthouses have been busy.

Stalwart defender. Everyone knows determined fans can be deadly.(USPD)

A reporter chatted with one nice looking young man as he stepped out after settling accounts. “Yeah, I had some traffic tickets and can’t have them showing up and dragging me off.” Big smiles and grins by all – as the camera swings around to the sweatshirted young man’s right.

There stood mom who proceeded to announce that she made him come down and take care of things. “He’s got two young boys and a pregnant wife at home. He can’t have the cops showing up.”

Uh, mixed reviews. Great mom is seeing that her kid does what needs to be done, but at some point maybe a parent of an adult might consider stepping back a little.

Herding thoughts towards a more uplifting round up, (balancing with the help of another devoted mom) Amberley Snyder is back in the saddle.

Stylishly swept to the side. Curves are in.©

Before she was 18, Amberley was on the fast track with her barrel racing horses: a world champion. Until her truck rolled and she was left completely paralyzed below the waist. (Wear those seat belts, kiddies. And don’t be a distracted driver)

From day one of her rehab therapy, she was determined to “Walk, ride, rodeo”.

Odds against her, she is riding again after 6 years. Watch her incredible journey here.

It wasn’t easy. She almost gave up. But Mom had the wisdom to say things like “Your horses have been hurt before and you waited for them to heal. They will do the same with you.” The horses have rewired their brains to ignore any bumps of touches from their rider’s legs or feet. Even more incredible, Amberley has begun to have some sensation of feeling in her legs. Doctors think it’s the riding: the stimulation on the spine.

Therapy horses’ rolling gait has been credited before for miracles with brain injuries, autism, and troubled minds.

Just because they are draped, doesn’t mean they don’t know growth when it appears.

I’ve heard that too about the exploding e-cigarettes and I think it’s right to ban them from airplanes… they also have a bad sideeffect: they cause thunderstorms in stomachs… and that could be a problem with only one bag under the seat :o)

It’s funny that there was a reporter doing interviews of people who owed but didn’t want negative publicity. Hmmmm….

Do-overs…as frequent as comb-overs. Neither ends up working well or giving the desired results. It just seemed funny to me, too…but I am easily amused. Thanks for going live with a comment!

I hadn’t heard about the e-cig charger exploding. Off to check out that link. Thanks.

Last week there was a video making the rounds from Kentucky news – a man had an e-cig in his pocket and it suddenly caught fire. When looking up that one, I was surprised to find out there were many others, too. Who knew so many were fired up? (Who needs natural disasters? Seems humans can do so much to themselves HA HA)
Thanks for charging up a comment

From the articles you linked to, it looks like some people have had significant damage done to their jaw, throat, and teeth from exploding e-cig batteries. One was a 15-year-old kid. How awful.

Odd how so little media is on this?

Yes, I’m surprised I haven’t seen it in my medical journals. I read them regularly. I’ll be on the lookout now. Thanks again.

And these aren’t being marketed to kids, right? (These things will be showing up in spy/horror/conspiracy movies shortly…)

Amberley’s story is inspirational indeed. What a beautiful irony that riding likely is helping her challenging situation improve. Her mother helped her hang in there and this may eventually be a case of time truly healing all wounds.

Amberley’s story is another example proving that when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Can’t help but root for her. Thanks for riding along and hanging up a comment

I didn’t know that the world would be ending tomorrow so I thank you for letting me know. If, by chance, it doesn’t end I’m going to try to be as determined as Amberley Snyder. If that woman can get on a horse, I certainly can walk on shanks’ mare a few more yards each day.

    O_o exploding e-cigs? That… is worrisome. I don’t smoke or vape, but I have friends who do…

Also, horseback-therapy for the win. I love your blog, you know that? I really, really do.

I saw a video of Amberley and was inspired! Horses are amazing therapy. I wrote about a little mustang mare who took such care of her owner when the woman was struck down by a brain tumor. We had a last trail ride in her honor and I watched from behind as her mare balanced her and showed unbelievable intuition. Spring is springing here Phil! Raked out my gardens and green shoots are appearing!

I remember that wonder filled post. Maybe one reason humans are so cross and in such a mess is that we left the animals, our guides, on the farms when we left. Animals – especially large ones- are well known to change people and adapt to their needs.
It was 80 today and it feels like spring – turning the clock up may have jump started the season…lots and lots of oak pollen. Got the before storm season tree trilling done. Still they are saying next week will be back to upper 40’s-low 60’s…difficult to hold off on those flowers in the nursery. Enjoy the outdoors – and thanks for hanging out around here
