Night after Stuff All.
It was the night after Stuff All with most crashed out on the couch…
Not a creature was stirring, well, maybe the German, RC of the House…
With stockings all emptied – and dishes all stacked, shouldn’t everyone be still and relaxed?
The kitties were snug upstairs with their toys. (Catnip having gone straight to their heads.)
When suddenly below there rose such a clatter, the German flew like the Flash to see what was the matter.
When what to her wondering eyes did appear.
But an overly enthusiastic Molly ripping wrapping paper from there to here.
“German,” she yelped with joy, “Santa did see me being good! I believe. I believe. They said if only you believe…Oh, by the way, Santa brought you a new blue Jolly Ball on a rope. I opened it to save you the trouble. Know you hate being undignified. It’s over there. Did a bit of preliminary testing on it, too. It works fine. All ready for you now. Hey, let’s go outside and try it out. I’ll carry it for you….”
There was much prancing and pawing of each furry foot in the yard.
Dash away. Keep away. Dash away all!
Finally, Stuffing Day came to a close with the AC on high, and a glowing fire in the fireplace charming all sleepy eyes.
The German smiled and happily sighed:
“Good dreams to all and to all a night-night!”
(As told to Phil, the Philosopher Mouse of the Hedge by the German, RC of her Realm)

All the fur ones were cooperative – pleased with their Santa loot, no doubt. Thanks for smiling along

Ah, lovely. The cats got to play with wrapping paper, and got a new mouse that somehow still has its tail. Neko got a tree thingie, which the Siamese will eat if I don’t pack it away next month!

Paw waves to Neko. Dogs do love trees…all sorts of trees. Cats? Well, they pretty much think they own it all. (good dogs have big feet to discourage that when necessary) Thanks for wrapping up the year with a comment

We’d be doing a lot better if the Bengals had pounced on the Broncos a bit harder. HA HA. Oh, well. who cares about the cold grey wet weather if there’s a warm fire and football on the big screen (and a few snacks at snoot level…). Hope you and yours are snug, dry, warm and enjoying the holidays. Thanks for running by here

More entertainment in the rooms than on the TV. That’s the real fun of the holidays. Now everyone’s resting up for the New Year. Hope the elves brought you and yours lots of cheer. Thanks for running by here.

Ah, a similar invasion here for Alice, RC of the Northern Realm. Cousins showing up and staying from Wednesday night through Saturday. Skeedles skeedaddled and twenty muddy paws proclaimed the yard was overly damp.
Phew, so glad to have the Realm back to normal and new toys left as glad tidings.

Yep, Santa’s brought some new thirsty mud grabbing doormats as the weather has turned from tropical to normal wet El Nino winter. One last sunny day to run with friends in the field, before back inside resting up for the New Year. (And not having to share toys – such joy!) Thanks for running by. Get ready to romp with the new year!

It’s exhausting managing the realm with all these interlopers.

Even better this year – we invade their yard. (It has better drainage and less mud, too! Win-win!) Thanks for snoozing along.

Much cheer with your message…the raccoon is still intact (being saved for days without doggy friends, no doubt). Sending much cheer to you and yours for the New Year!

Mo would fit right in on the ranch… Bear, Zoe and Mr. T are all black and white. Mo’s got a nice beard that could rival Mr. T’s fabulous ruff! I hope no one ingested that wrapping paper! 🙂

Mo is wondering if he’s part of the new Santa Clause…he says he has a belly that shakes like a bowl full of jelly, too… (Little says, “We are working on that.) Molly has no interest in paper…just the ripping of it. The German just looks at packages put in front of her…well, after checking them over for explosives. Molly waits her turn and does all the opening for them both. It is rather funny.
Hope the elves brought a ton of Christmas delight your way (Take care in all this rough weather moving across!!!)

Before and after is the best part. I’m recovering from during. Sigh.
Oh, and we had the Christmas mouse… hoping for some lunch but we relocated it so it wouldn’t become something’s lunch.

Oh, my. Nothing causing more of a ruckus than an unexpected guest like that. Molly is sad the mouse took the wrong turn and ended up there…she and the German could have played keep-a-way with it….Jogging would have been good for mousie? No one likes a fat mouse, says Molly. RC begs to differ….and begs for you to extend an invitation –
Thanks for joining the holiday celebration. Cheers and onward to the new year!

Easy, Molly is trying to get Mo to relinquish the whiskers. She thinks if you two can build a Santa, you’ll get more treats! Sounds logical. Will get back to you on it.
Thanks for joining the holiday party. Cheers and onward to the new year!
