Rogue wave.

Rogue wave.

No matter how you modify it.

Has to happen.

A stern wave, this.
(Large wave astern/Personnel of NOAA Ship Delaware II/NOAA photo library ship 1175/US PD:gov photo/Commons.wikimedia.org)

No matter how she feels.

No matter if she likes you or not.

It’s in the job description – for rogues or common. Waves required, see?

Difficult enough at times.

No wonder she insists on appearing well rested.

Dubious meanings, no doubt.

Rogue wave – cheeky lass.

The long and winding rogue may be winsome, but impetuousness doesn’t always pay.

Get on down that road.

The answer is in the wind, waves, and see.

“I prefer rogues to imbeciles because sometimes they take a rest” (Alexander Dumas)

Road toes.

Rode waves.

Of emotion? Of heat? Of water?

Doesn’t matter – all are fluid.

Rogue tip?

Avoid trip ups.

Know the depths of the waters.

And watch that first step – or it’ll be the lass.

Search for the open minded road and the rogue of heart.

You’re so inspiring, reading that made me calm. Water has the same effect and I totally agree how it’s completely opposite from out human twirling brain. Going to the sea this Sunday, can’t wait to be at the water again after a long time! Grah city lol.

We’ve been getting rogue waves every day – more sudden storms causing flash floods. Is there sunshine in FL? I’m due for a break. Love the toes on the dashboard. Relaxing.

Stormy weather does get old after a while…especially with flash flood risks. Not sure about Florida – usually hot this time of year and looking out for hurricanes (so far so good for everyone). Bound to be a few rogues there, though. We’re humid and simmering (as usual) but did have some rain (3 days and the mosquitoes arrive). Those toes are on a CA highway footing it to fun (sigh). Thanks for traveling over to chat

Love the quotes. Although I don’t think there is a Wilde quote that I don’t love.

That wave on the first photo is wicked, truly evil. And the last picture is so calm and tranquil. Amazing difference between the two.

Some rogues these days are not so amusing. That Wilde quote is great.
NOAA has another pix of that wave crashing over their ship which is not small. Large waves are one thing that worried me about sailing…those and tankers who don’t see you and can’t stop. The last pix was taken July 4th from the parking lot of our local fish market across Galveston Bay – the ship channel for the cargo ships and tankers is off in the distance. One of the small sailing clubs has a launch site (over to the left side). They have races for Sunfish and young sailers at various times. This time of year, there’s often enough wind to sail if you get up early or sail late in the afternoon/night.
I guess it’s just a sign of the time, but many of the marinas/docks are now putting up gates and security whereas before you could just wander around and talk with people. Murder, thefts. Rogues ruin everything.
As the weather cools, I’ll get more shots of the area – it’s just 100 and too darn hot now. Thanks for sailing over to chat

All the marinas here are secure. Both Gib and Spain. Tacking away now.

Road trip for everyone…well maybe not everyone all at once. The traffic would be horrendous…rotating basis, maybe? It would be nice to take a break and run away for a bit. Thanks for riding along

Dashing rogues make some of the best characters, too….

I remember an old introductory archaeology textbook where the author asked other archaeologists how they described themselves. Amid replies such as “processual archaeologist” and “classical archaeologist,” someone replied to the survey with — Rogue Archaeologist.

I’ve always wondered who that was!

I keep hearing the tune from Indiana Jones movies behind your comment. Who was the masked archeologist? (What a great description/analytical game)
I know Meghan does things by the book, but somehow I can’t help thinking she’ll break out of the label with some rogue moves/thinking eventually – she’s a strong woman that hears things calling….kinda like her author.
      Thanks for surfing over

My favorite quote? “I prefer rogues to imbeciles because sometimes they take a rest”. (Alexander Dumas) Well, except for Anthony Weiner, maybe. He doesn’t seem to have been resting much. On the other hand, maybe he’s just an imbecile….

I saw the discussion about kale. I’ve always thought it would be bitter and tough, too.But I ought to give it a try. After all, it’s part of a Bob Wills tune.

Looks like Weiner doesn’t fit the rogue category – more like the other.
Calling for kale – it’s available…maybe it’ll stay in the basket this trip – being held hostage by the heat makes you want to try something new. Besides, if it caught Wills’ attention, it might be worth a second look. Thanks for stirring up a comment

As delighted as I am with your cleverness, the pic of the stern wave gives me the horrors – the stuff of nightmares, and you are so right about “No matter if she likes you or not.” I’ve been sailing once. I took a pic of the G.O. at the helm and as the sea got a bit choppy at that point I put my phone in my back pocket and sat down, we turned the boat away from the big waves, but a single boig way turned about and completely swamped just me, alone, oh, and my phone…
I’ll settle for the groovy red toenails on the dashboard, that’s more my speed 🙂

And that really wasn’t a rogue wave – just a large one….bigger than I want to see looming behind me! Do people worry about fish that get tossed in the boat as the wave crashes….with my luck it would be a mad shark. Thanks for cruising over
