Beginnings
Quick! Leap into the Torrent!
A rose by any name might smell as sweet, but pick the right one to sidestep defeat.
A simple name to avoid the thorn…
Hedgerow?
Does that beckon, and glow?
Phrase, jump the pond. Be clever. Be quick.
Abbreviate. Modernize. Show a bit of wit.
Hedgerow of olde with both brambles and blossoms
Just doesn’t sit well with Armadillos and possums.
Still I sit here in this garden surround,
Playing with words until I like the sound.
Hedge
Direct. Clean. And here.
A verb. A noun. With meaning unclear.
But that is as life, especially this year.
So reader thus starts a journey to somewhere,
Leap into the torrent –
Enjoy as we get there.

What an interesting blog. You’re Always thinking! How do you slow down your thoughts? You seem to like playing with words and the sounds of the words intrigue you. When did you realize you had a talent with playing with words? You start off with fast, moving words to “just take the leap,” and begin. That’s usually the hardest part. “NOW WHAT?” is thinking, that’s why you started with fast moving words, possibly because they would not think, and just do.
Then you speak about “taking the time” to pick the right rose, so you don’t make any fast, wrong choices, by being defeated. In other words ; “Slow down and smell the roses.”
You gave two opposite thoughts with two different perspectives. For someone who see’s direct, clean and here, you simply took a lot of words to make it simple.
The picture from the photograph of water as a rushing torrent, and your words, gave me a very clear picture to believe, and have faith while you jump in and begin your journey of life.

I’m glad of that but It’s still such a sad loss, it was the first of two such losses I felt in two days. The following day another lady I follow from England had a mischievous mutt called Macauley ( PiedType knew him too) who was struck and died a couple of days later and i must admit shedding more tears, he was such a lovely creature.
I reblogged Kate’s obituary to her dog yesterday. Kate is such an elegant writer; and her dog was such a delight.

I just caught up with Kate – thanks for the nudge. This is the third in so few days. Maybe it’s the odd super moon eclipse Friday pulling them over to howl in chorus. Dad always said run the dogs ahead on the trail to scare anything lurking there off…I think they are simply doing that – securing the path ahead of us – and will wait patiently until we catch up and can go forward together.
We miss them terribly meanwhile – they are such brave ones
