Seasoned for the hop.

He’s green, but that doesn’t mean he’s inexperienced. Or jumping around about climate change. (© image)
Sometimes it’s good to be in a place where the things that bug you simply hop away.

Ever notice when you alter angles you get a different perspective and notice some critical detail you previously missed? He’s got a serious stinger and is no doubt a zinger about using it. (© image)
Dawdling, be cause
Phil, the Philosopher Mouse of the Hedge.

The path going into forward. Where any noise is simple and organic instead of naturally annoying and destructive. So there’s hope. And I’m going to hold on to that thought and attitude for a little while longer. (© image)
Would love to walk that path…………..

Although the ground is uneven, it’s easier to maintain balance there. Thanks for stepping out here

If only everything that bugged us hopped away like that little green fella! 😉
Happy Monday and paw waves!

And he leaped off without deploying any stinger…have to admire there’s restraint and reason somewhere.
Wander onward! Paw waves! (Oh, Hera, sorry about the trail dust flying off Molly’s paws. She was so excited to find “natural and organic” paths1)

Tried to find out what kind of critter it is, but had no luck.
What is it?
As for hiking . . . not doing much of it right now … 90/90 (temp and humidity) is not conducive to getting me outside. On the other hand, my house is free from the bugginess one might encounter when mingling with two-legged pests.

I’m still looking. Hops like a grasshopper, but that stinger.
it was over 95 mid day, but early and late with low humidity and a breeze was fine…only we dawdled and missed “early” mostly. Still even sitting in the shade helped de-bug thinking.
Back here the humidity and late Aug heat merge into a dense wall deterring any desire to go outside. Still trying to hold on to clarity and lack of noise.
Thanks for shuffling a comment this way.

What a character! I like the idea of hopping away from trouble, both literally and figuratively.

It’ll was nice to just get away from the noise and hysteria. May not be cool yet there either, but certainly breezy and refreshing anyway…with rainbows and a sunset so orange we thought at first it was a forest fire just over the mountain. Simply majestic. Back into the hopper here now, but trying to hang on to that attitude., Thanks for winding around this path

That’s a serious hopper. I don’t think we have anything quite like that in these islands (UK) where everything tends to be small and bijou. Then again, with global warming, who knows?

Not sure what it is, but would hate to run into a mob of them. Thanks for hopping by to chat

You know, I started thinking about the old 1970’s Kung Fu martial arts TV show with “Grasshopper”
Everything then had to be so philosophical…here’s 25 quotes from that show to ponder ( and try to keep a straight face. It’s David Carradine…we were all so cool back then.) (Insert smirk here?)

I looked at a lot of weird critters trying to see something that looked like this. Closest I got was a kadydid but who knows if she did or not? 🙂

That bug thing is a really insane shade of green. Wow. Too green to be camo around here. And I notice how blue your sky is. Be very, very grateful for that.

Not easy being that green, but bound to be the mountain air there (we lucked out during a slack smoke day)
Thanks for the bug comment crawl

I just spent too much time trying to figure out what the insect might be. I don’t think that’s a stinger on the end; it could be an ovipositor — a long tube used to lay eggs. If you have a good closeup, you could post it on BugGuide and get the answer. It can take a few days, but I’ve had good luck with them.
