Trafficking in amusings

Snowy roadway at night.Minnesota (Tony Webster/Commons.wikimedia.org)

Any question to why they left? (Tony Webster/Commons.wikimedia.org)

Why is it you never see one of those Missing Senior Alert signs for someone driving a Corvette?

Bound to be lots of reasons. Hmmm, how about

  • Jr took the car keys awaaaay ( and probably the car…)
  • Maybe those run-run-runaways left a “don’t try and find me” note…or you’ll be left outta the will

Why would a police supervisor talking to media about an incident involving one vehicle shooting at another say “We don’t advise anyone discharging a weapon from inside a vehicle…”?

  • Uh, exactly what do you advise about cars and discharging weapons?
  • You would think the law enforcement officer would be more like ” Don’t shoot at people when you are driving or in a car”. Or “Stop being a fool, you might hurt/kill someone.” Or just plain “Idiot”.
  • Long for the less embellished verbiage. No wonder messages don’t get through.
  • (Road rage after 2 drivers played bumper cars for real. Story here. We went by this mess shortly after it happened today.)

Day break can break your routine. (Verygreen/Commons.wikimedia.org)

This is the post you get when you drag up before dawn – coerce the dog to go out in the dark…and “get back in here, now. Nooo, get out of the bush.” – try to convince the cat she will not starve before you get back and finally (always 30 min early or 30 min late with this town’s morning traffic) getting to the Big Med Center – and be happy to find one parking space – one – open despite the early arrival. (“Look just back in and put the bumper in the bush and it will look just like a compact car from the front. It is so not over the red do not block fire lane line…)

Back home (Cat did not die. Lovely dramatic recreation of Juliet’s last moments, though. Applause.) Sr Staff is resting mildly drugged comfortably.

And there’s a cool front thunderstorm arriving.

I am easily amused. (Good quality to have)

Have a great weekend!

as long as the cat is happy with you, that’s all that really matters.

Ooo, a thunderstorm and rain!! May we have a bit, pretty please? We’ve been here since the beginning April and there’s been virtually no rain. Even for a desert that’s not good. As for as cars and driving, Arizona drivers have to be up there with some of the worst: evidently not many working turn signals/indicator/blinkers and lots of people who love to cut across three lanes because they just decided they MUST turn at the next corner. In the time we’ve been here, I’ve seen four accidents, one which left a vehicle not only smashed but completely on its top and one where I was stopped at a red light, heard a smashing sound and saw a van shooting across the intersection to where it finally stopped facing the opposite way on the sidewalk. Sigh. On my NextDoor app, which too often gets a bit like FB in the nasty comment way, people have been complaining about kids drag racing along certain streets. You can’t blame this all on Covid or the President. 🙂

    Enjoy the weekend!

We had about 5 min of rain. I managed to get the 2 house palms out…they wilted in despair at the brevity. But the north wind is glorious – less humid and cooler. Molly is enthralled.
Sometimes I wonder if the HWY engineers just throw spaghetti on the table, then copy the results in road designs. They keep re-creating merges/intersections that are notorious for wrecks and jostling that results in road rage. At least today, no vehicle went off the road bed onto those below. As you say, the individuals’ personal responsibility for sane driving seems to be MIA….as well as an overinflation of self worth.
From what I hear around here, NextDoor is FB’s twin…
Really bizarre times – people seem to have disengage higher level thinking ….or any thinking at all. Mirrors might have a clue as who is to blame as well as whom can fix it? HAHA

It’s predicted to cool down quite a bit either Sunday or Monday, even dip into the 40’s (gasp!) at night for a few days. Then it will warm up but only into the 80’s which will be absolutely great. I’m ready for those cooler temperatures.

We’re in for a very cool weekend (high in the mid 50s). Much welcome after a week of muggy, damp, drizzle weather with temps in the 60s. (They said it would be a wonderful week! Ha!) There is not use trying to make sense out of drivers. Overinflated sense of righteousness is what I always think. No kindness even to out of state license plates. Hope your trip to the med center went well. I always hate those dark morning trips. It makes it all eerie.

Playing bumper cars at an intersection that EVERYONE knows merges and far too many try to swoop in at the last minute from the left lane into the turning right lane instead of waiting patiently in line like all the others wanting to turn right….why does the HWY dept continue to build these types of merges? I’ll be first in line for a giant drone Uber HAHA
Perfect weather this weekend post Halloween. This is the weather we all wait for. (and sooner or later I’ll catch up with responding to comments – thanks for the patience and stopping by)

I was amazed at the coolth this morning.Having the AC and the dehumidifier both off is a great thing.

Now: moving on to road rage, you should have seen the 146/2094 black hole yesterday. I’ll spare you the details; suffice it to say 146 south was closed at 2094, and the detour traffic was backed up through the Target parking lot, and Lawrence Road took a half-hour to get through, and…. Honestly…
A friend and I were going to have a late lunch at Topwater grill, and we gave it up; you just couldn’t get there from here!

Glad you managed to get into town and back safely. Time for a nice, easy weekend now?

We left the city to get out of the traffic – and now it seems it’s here, too. SO many more cars than before – and much less courtesy. Would be so nice to magic wand all that road/bridge construction away.
Hmmm Topwater Grill does sound good! (Best to go during the week – even then as you say: aaarrrgh.
We are really in Chamber of Commerce weather now – much too nice to stay indoors!

I dread people with road rage. I mean, I can see how unhinged they are and just want to be invisible. Hoping your weekend was a good one. Mellow even

It’s gotten a little scary these days – people are nuttier than usual. Halloween for real on wheels
Such lovely weather – even if cloudy – it’s cooler! And people seem to have gotten the Holler-Ring spirit with more decorations …and few of those puffy ones. Maybe Fall is actually going to happen ( but not before poor NOLA gets one more hurricane – Gads)
Thanks for rolling bye with a comment

It’s 17 degrees here, with snow on the ground. More than a foot fell on our fires, and Estes is back to a “voluntary evacuation” status. Snow has never been more beautiful!

Hope things are still chillin’ in the mt fire zones – finally able to get in touch with some who evacuated.
I know the trend in the forest service is to let nature take care of things, but I really hope they allow some grain and hay drops this winter to help the animals displaced by fires and habitat encroachment. I fear more animals will be lured into suburban lawns and neighborhood…with those who came “for the mt experience…but get those darn animals outta my yard.”
Monarchs and raptors are arriving here – winter must be at the door.

      Thanks for the good vibes.
Unfortunately results not happy, so I’ll be in and out while dealing with this.
But haul out the disco music as we will survive this one, too. Happy Holler-Ring

Oh noes! Well, if you need any Central Texas levity in the form of run-on sentences and other poor grammar, I’m here with that and lots of positive energy to send your way.
