Hit and done. The back nines.

Collection of wanna be posts

Either half-flaked or half pint (consumed)

  • Nothing says “Hey, I may be a teen, but I’m pretty mature and have good judgement qualifying me to vote” like participating in the  TikTok’s Skull-breaker challenge. This challenge requires two participants tricking a third person standing between them into jumping up, then they kicking the jumper’s feet out from under them before they land. Yep. Some real brain power exhibited there by all. Possibly all over the floor…(Video and reported incidents here.) Oh, they’ll be fine. Story probably ain’t what it’s cracked up to be, party-poopers.

Sunny is my name. Staying grounded is my game. Pretty bright, yes? (© image)

  • Nothing says, I hate you and I’m going to take my toys and go home” like parts of states trying to do their own version of Brexit. Wanna take their lands and go: it’s “a border readjustment and not secession.” (“Five states seek to join their neighboring states”) Mom always said if you can’t play nice and get along, or if people don’t like you, go someplace where they do. It was good advice. Then.

Blooming mad: I’m perky. Snow White has nothing on me, yet people walk right by while searching for that “I want to be alone” Lucky Four Leaf diva and that darn Crimson who is overloaded with perfume.(© image)

  • Nothing says “Get on the phone and demand they get that darn Coronavirus stopped now” like frantic brides and teenage party girls realizing the big season for proms, quinceañeras, and weddings is coming up. There’s a local fashion crisis as fabrics, custom dresses, and wigs are being held up by factory closures and quarantines. “Chinese imports impacted by coronavirus epidemic” How inconvenient. To be forced to wear something right off the rack. (Interesting article. You do know where light bulbs come from, right? And if you’re bright, there’s the realization about where aspirin and many drugs are made…so you might wanna check that medicine cabinet….)

  • Nothing says “you pay a price for fashion” like deciding to pick up a almost new, high-dollar pair of shoes at a pawn shop. ..and deciding to literally “pick up” the sneakers through a hole in the roof…in daylight…during rush hour…right next to a major freeway…with a buddy stationed on the roof with what a appears to be a rifle (but is actually a pellet gun with the red markings one the barrel (which tells police it’s a pellet gun, not a real gun) removed. “Suspects caught on roof of pawn shop“. Looks like they will be wearing orange this season – san the fashionable sneakers.

  • Nothing says “we’ve turned the corner on winter like wildflowers in Texas”.

Your TV forecasts may just have Sunny, Rainy, or Stormy (meaning weather events, not girls with classic stripper names), but this time of year ours features wildflower reports.

The show’s already started. Something to smile about!

But get out there quick…the cold front with a predicted freeze arrives shortly.

Nothing says “Welcome, to Texas” like whiplash weather.

Risky for any post or flower to bloom before its’ time.

But I’ve ignored that for 9 years now on WordPress.

Thanks to all who dug in and pedaled along!

A small primer of Texas regions – you name it we’ve got it. Beach on the right; Big Bend Mountains on the left…but no winter mountain skiing – would you settle for water skiing – your choice: lake, bay, or manmade waterways with overhead tow lines. You can always use the indoor ice rinks year ’round. We speak AC here. (screenshot ABC 13 news)

Quite a collection. If it keeps up the skull breaker may make a Darwin award.

Makes for interesting reading, Phil. I’d love to see all those Texas flowers in bloom. The pawn shop robbery sounds quite scary. I’m obviously wise to keep well away from such places. 😯

I’ve read about the Texas wildflowers in bloom and how wonderful it is to visit during this time of year. Despite the unreliable weather I hope you enjoy the beauty.

These exquisite, tiny, tiny blossoms are cherished becauseof their singular beauty. It is that very first sighting of a spring dandelion or a solitary daffodil growing in a road side ditch that makes my heart beat faster and fills my heart with joy.

Congratulations on nine years of finding the bizarre, obscure, and often ridiculous to share with us. The coronavirus impact? There’s a lot more to bother me about potential problems than dresses and the like. This post has me shaking my head, even though I can understand about people wanting to get away from the politics and political influence of Chicago. Thankfully our suburban town is quite different!!

Hmmmm… the wildflowers are out, but I don’t think they’re “that” out. I presume the tv dudes were just priming the pump, so to speak. I hope so! I was thinking just today that a little gentle stockpiling might be good. We know how people behave when a hurricane’s coming. I’ve seen enough footage from Italy, etc., to suspect it might be the same here. I figure the good news for me is that if I’m quarantined for a month, I might finally get my photo files sorted out.

You’re hitting lots of nails on the head today, aren’t you Phil. Of note, the Republican legislators in Oregon who walked out and want to form a separate state with Idaho. Have to wonder if Idaho wants them. We have the State of Jefferson where I live. Same thing. Local folks who don’t want to pay taxes want to join other’s who don’t want to pay taxes. One can only wonder how they will get their roads built…
Other: Coronavirus is definitely worrisome. I do live out in the woods with quite a supply of backpacking food. Hmmmm. On the other hand we have a family river cruise on the Rhine planned for this summer to celebrate Peggy’s 70 birthday. Beginning to doubt that is going to happen. –Curt
