Manic Oppression

Politicians are like diapers: both should be changed frequently for the same reason.

They’re coming. They’re coming. Lock up your daughters and hang on to your wallets. The third Democratic lecturing you common people from above debate is happening here.

Woman dressed as cat sitting on vintage plane (Kitirik mascot 1958. (KTRK publicity photo/Hou.Chron)

We’ve always welcomed visitors. Even if a bit catty and with a bit of black humor.(1958 local Children’s show mascot Kitirik at airport/KTRK publicity photo/Hou.Chron)

Ironically the police chief (think Barney Fife or Officer Clancy) was on last night telling locals “If you don’t have business here, stay away. Leave work early. Do not attempt to get into this area”.

A gathering (placed by design in a working class neighborhood) being staged so people can get to know the people who want to be their next president….but you ordinary voters people do not come. Barricades are up.

Great. Attitude. Telling.

We been out drinking coffee out back watching the planes of the elites arrive at what was NASA’s/space shuttles transport’s airport. Easy to keep up with who’s in town by the planes overhead. Certain people do not wish to brush elbows with commoners’ crush at the actual airports. It’s for security reasons…politicans/elected officials/those of certain status and their armed bodyguards are important.

The escorted entourages must be closing the one major road inbound like crazy. It’s OK. most drivers will simply think it’s the continuing construction closures. (Such a need for individual helicopters or a large multi-powered drone shuttle. Need is the mother…)

Houston has lots of large conventions and sport events. Congenially set up for mobs it.

Once a Summer Olympic committee and the city asked residents in multiple counties to plant certain colored flowers so people flying in would see “pretty welcome” from the planes.

Yeah. Yawn. Been here for long and you know these events bring mobs, streets being blocked, Important people bargain into other areas of town (resulting in barricading of even neighborhood streets…just try and get home) because they want to shop or eat at some local places and they spill over to our waterfront.

And then there’s the crowds of very beautiful women arriving from all over the country and populating nightclubs and sidewalks. They are voters, right? Really, really pretty voters that are very, very friendly. Hey, they are somebody’s daughters, so be nice….

Nice to see they are so interested in public debate….Pretty gets some in to nightclubs when others can’t so maybe the police will give them entrance into the forbidden zone. (That does sound ironically like a night club, doesn’t it? Life is party.)

The circus political spectacles provide some amusement. The groups seem strive to outdo each other.

There’s a mayor’s election coming up and the commercials from candidates from both parties are kicking into high grinching gear.

Wish the print on  ads was run by an editor or at least spell check. Samples of illiteracy does not inspire confidence. If it’s some weird suggestion by a National Political Party to appeal to the commoners, misguided.

Oh, that’s the way things are flying here. It’s fine. Visitors welcomed.

Just don’t injure the police dogs or horses – and pick up your own trash.

Phil, the Philosopher Mouse of the Hedge

Oh, feeling this post is not exactly up to standards. Been dealing with an emergency with Person’s Small Person’s involving blood and lots of it. Kid’s Ok but now feeling better – which is a whole different challenge…would probably be better if chocolate ice cream wasn’t offered as lunch, but maybe that’s just me. Trying to catch up on lesser important things as time permits….not that you readers are lesser, but yep, blood and lots of it. Thanks for understanding MIA.

Dog gone it, I’m not. I had my bags packed and transport shuttle reservations ready to go home. RC Cat is most perturbed…and getting a bit scary with The Paw over the gate and under the door. I should have been there!  Well, they wouldn’t let me in that school but maybe they will now – service dog? I will be glued to my Littles Person’s side to protect him. I’m brave, strong, soft, and crash landing suitable. Put me in coach…oh, OK. Once getting bumped into – accidentally – only accidentally – won’t make it worse. Sigh. There’s no place like home.No place like home. I keep clicking my heels. Now waiting for heal. (© image)

that is a very good saying… and true… if they start to stink to high heaven we should get new one… really like diapers..

And stinking and annoying are those protestors who are foolish and selfish. And uninformed. This ship channel is not just about oil – it is a major port with products going all over the world and coming in: medical supplies, goods for emerging nations, food for those who need it over seas – and all the nonsense these very people buy themselves.
As usual authorities here will try to let them get attention they want, make sure they stay safe (this is a dangerous stunt) and keep the city operating while they do so. Ironically ordinary people/tourist wanting pictures who stopped on this very high and very busy with commerce bridge would be hauled off to jail for disrupting traffic/trespassing (since 911). Be we try to be kind and understanding despite what media tries to say about the locals here. Sigh.
Please let them all leave soon and let all be safe.
      Thanks for supporting the changing.

Living in the Granite State, we have been inundated with the candidates for months now. Local news has set up a special section just so you can follow them without bothering about things like weather and traffic reports. They stomp through, smiling and waving. Diners, town halls,
and homes of wealthy donors are favorite spots to spot them. I’m fed up with it all.

Yep, some have been here all week. (Trying to be pleasant about them, but seriously…)
this is fun ( and dumb)These people haven’t a clue about this port …shipping out food, supplies, equipment, medical needs to emerging countries – not to mention things needed by hurricane damaged places right now – and all the nonsense they themselves buy. Normally our local protestors – and they are constant and numerous – manage to protest, get attention without harming the ordinary working people just trying to make a living and get back and forth to work.
      Thanks for commiserating. Sigh.

Kids bounce back and just travel on – Think it’s harder on the mom. (Kinda like your new car getting the first scratch or little dent in it. HaHa)
Ella’s wishing we had the artificial turf like her yard – it’s always dry and makes a race track…although you can really dig a good hole in it….the wipe your muddy feet rag routine is tedious here.
Thanks for bouncing in with a comment

Sorry about your small person. That first line make me laugh and the rest made me glad I’m not there. Can’t stand to watch the debates. I’d rather read about them the next day. It’s like multiple Zuckerbergs testifying before Congress…infuriating. But hey, if one of them is elected, everything will be free. That’s all I really need to know.

    Happy Thursday!

Gads and we have months of annoying blah, blah, blah ahead. (The really great thing is while helping keep short person still, time was spent more with wooden train track layouts and some really fun children’s books…Clifford still rocks.
Thanks for the running by to chat

The tv station back then had Kitirik as a back cat PR mascot who showed up at events and she had a local children’s show with a live audience. (Her real first name was Bunny. Honestly…they should have gone with a rabbit outfit? HAHA) Thanks for being part of this show’s audience

It would have been better if he hadn’t been hurt – but hey, it could have been worse with permanent damage – like losing an eye. I just told him he really looked like a drooling vampire after a meal…imagine Dan Blocker/Hoss as a vampire and you’re close HaHa.
Recovery looks better and easier with no surgery. You know how a single toddler can somehow morph into a many legged octopus when people re trying to hold him still to get the stitches in using a local( which is safer at this age)…but, swear he added 8-10 arms/legs during the process. He’s recharged, his mom however is really tired …Ella thought about it and decided it was calmer here for a bit longer. HaHa
Thanks for stitching in a comment

That first line says it all. As for those yo-yos hanging from the Fred Hartman…Well, there’s only one song for them. </a. The lyrics aren't quite on target, but the visual's great.

That’s a great song add. (Isn’t it odd they showed up for the debates? Those candidates are all on their side already…)
Dunderheads. Understand the big concern by authorities was the heat…as they weren’t really familiar or prepared for extended baking…would have been a nice touch if they had left them hanging for 48 hours in the sun and not let them back up. It was a pretty sculpture for a bit.
What a traffic mess, though for ordinary people just trying to make a living. Wonder if they will have to pay drivers for the multi-car rear end collisions they caused or any whiplash injuries when they jumped out of their (fossil fuel guzzling) car suddenly in the middle of moving traffic.
Always a circus around here, right?
thanks for sitting in this blog’s bleacher stands watching the world go by.

Wouldn’t life be interesting of people had like though bubbles over their heads showing the brain’s draft and edits of what finally was being said verbally?
Thanks for adding to the laughter
