Troubles while being green

Everyone knows green isn’t easy..

Just because you have enough green to buy a pickup, doesn’t mean you have enough sense to own a horse.

Dunderhead! A real car surfing horse wouldn’t have tie down reins. Guinness World records will not be impressed. IS this a double environmental crime against green? (Image: Kerry Green Costello FB)

People were not amused.

Corrigan police finally stopped the vehicle which had been going over 70 mph at times. The driver said his other truck that pulled his horse trailer wouldn’t start, so he had no choice. Besides he was only going for about 40 miles from Lufkin to Livingston, TX.

He was ticketed, the horse removed and taken to livestock barn where it was held until suitable, safe transportation could be arranged. Animal cruelty charges are pending. (And we know in olden days people sometimes did this – but people rode without seat belts then, too….)

“What’s next for the driver behind the horse ride on Hwy 59”

Of course, the driver and the horse both could have been previously bar hopping with some of the local dawgs.

Some can’t leave their best buddy out of the fun: just in time for St Patrick’s’ Day celebrations: Good Boy Dog Beer.

A local couple created a dog beverage which isn’t actually beer (no alcohol, hops, or fermentation), but they wolf it down anyway. Got to be the fresh ingredients.

  • IPA lot in the Yard (pork based)
  • Mailman Malt Liquor (Chicken based)
  • Session Squirrel (Veggie based)
  • Crotch Sniffin’ Ale (Peanut based)

They ship, so spending a little green makes sure you and your favorite hound can howl together on St. Patrick’s Day.

You might as well get up off the floor and stop laughing…they said people would never buy clothes for their dogs either…

If you are one of those green behind the ears people who has to share everything with your dog, people can drink it, but it’s supposed to be pretty bland.

Listen you Animals, take care horsing around this weekend

that was no good idea to pick up the horse this way… if I would be in rouble I would enter my destination on the back of the horse …

No horse fly there. Not even a tail gate to brace against or prevent bad a misstep. Maybe the Highway patrol should stand the driver on top of their car and say “Hang on buddy, the jail’s just a few miles down the road…” Some only learn by hands-on experiences.
Paws up to you guys – thanks for loping over here. Have a great weekend

Everyone who’s lived here for more than a cuppa and a Whataburger knows about Corrigan police. If that dude had been smart, he would have taken the FMs around town. Of course, if he’d been really smart he would have borrowed a trailer, but some things are just too obvious, I suppose. You even can rent the things. Good grief.

That’s exactly what I thought, too! (Besides, did he think he had it in sneak and no one would see?) Appears he needed to rent a different truck as the one he pulls the trailer with wouldn’t start…”so I had no choice” – that’s the disturbing part. Seems logic and reasoning abilities bad second to the MEEEEEE. The being sensitive to thing dangerous to live things? Which to address first: that a the chicken or the egg deal. Sigh. We’re in trouble (Beto: He has great hair, a skateboard, and was in a band! Couldn’t make it as a rock star, so President will have to do. Perfect.)

Doggy beer? Thinking that might not be exactly what the world needs right now. Uh huh.

Apparently not a new/totally unique idea according to this article in Forbes: https://www.forbes.com/sites/lesliewu/2018/09/30/brewing-is-going-to-the-dogs/#76c0ca6038c5
I would think allowing the dogs to be shareholders is probably not a wise idea to bark about…
Smart marketing and a few extra coins for the dog friendly eateries and bars locally. RC Cat just smirks about beer and says “only humans and canines…real St Patrick’s Day celebration connoisseurs would give paws up for a bit of Crème de menthe”…she being of the lace curtain type.
Thanks for adding a bit of beer here

The horse photo was disturbing. What a freaking idiot! Dog beer? My cats are jealous although they would prefer a latte.

With the warmer climate and St Patrick’s Day, RC Cat suggests a bit of Crème de menthe…for digestive purposes, of course. (That pickup not Uber approved or anywhere close to wagons-ho!) May your chosen watering hole be full of bubbles and no troubles this weekend (You are always the big fish there!)

Makes me angry just to see the photo!! Maybe he’d had too many dog beers. That’s the only reasonable explanation I can think of!!

Beer as an excuse would be a relief. Fear this might be a perfect example of logic and reasoning skills not being taught somewhere – all about the MEEEEEE. (The horse is not neighing “Weeee” all the way home. He’d rather have a gig somewhere else) Thanks for riding a comment down to leave. Have a great weekend

Not sure whether that “have a gig somewhere” was an inadvertent pun or not, but one meaning of “gig” is this:

        1. a light, two-wheeled one-horse carriage.

        🙂

SIL who is a vet headed to a big horsemanship conference – supposed to be about the “new” techniques of managing horses…get them to do what you want by making them think it’s their idea. Will be interested in what she finds out. (Questioning the conference preview that says their technique replaces the “beat them until you do what they want” philosophy….I don’t know anyone who’s done that for a long long time – in my experience, if you mistreat a horse, they will never forget it or ever work with you…of course I’ve always been around farmers/ranchers/horsemen who gentled, never “broke” horses – all long before the Horse Whisperer movie came out. So, am curious.

Insane on the horse, Phil. My old basset hound Socrates (many years ago) used to like a few sips of Bud in his water dish. He liked to wash down a hotdog with it. –Curt

Why is it Bud seems to be the choice of sharing with canines? Smart entrepreneurs as they know there are so many dog friendly bars/patios/restaurants around – all offer these dog beverages…who can ignore that doggy face and deprive him/her while indulging yourself? Healthy dog snack are also available…now it the dogs only picked up the check once in a while…
Cheers for Socrates (who undoubtedly lived up to his name). Have a great weekend!

My tastes have changed since those days, Phil. I wonder if Socrates would have as well if he were still around. Never let him drink much since he was plenty loopy without beer. I think that Soc would now lean toward a good porter or stout, i.e. whatever I happened to be drinking. –Curt

HaHa! Thought everyone could use a bit of a laugh. I think you’re one of the few who noticed the company’s names for their beer. Hey maybe we should have a contest to add to those?
With Spring Break, end of the Rodeo, and St Pat’s Day, it’s quite a cool weekend here. (If only the extreme pollen would leave!!!). Will be heading your way shortly to see how the party’s going on at your place. Thanks for ponying up to the bar here

HORRIBLE way to treat that horse! 😠

Dog beer, hunh? (Can they open the cans themselves?)
    Love the flavor names!
    Wines for cats, I suppose.
    A tuna Tokay?
    Or a purring pinot noir?
