In the bubble

Gotta find a new place where the kids are hip? Done.

Ain’t your chiffon-dressed granny’s ballroom dance hall, and you’d better be able to kick it

Venue features:

  • Beer
  • Extreme sports competition for laughs accolades and glory
  • Exercise without a breaking a nail (but knee pads might be advisable)
  • Wardrobe protection provided: Wear your best without worry of rips or mud or smelly locker rooms.
  • Did I say beer? Over 100 taps of mostly craft beer and wine. (The cocktail crowd should toddle elsewhere for fancy drinks featuring umbrellas and such)

Houston Dynamo legend Brian Ching opened the area’s wildest sports entertainment venue: Pitch 25

Oh, there’s the usual 40+ TV’s, and plenty of room for indoor four on four soccer matches. Great bar food (Try the The Brian Ching burger which includes pineapple and fried spam in tribute to Brian’s Hawaiian heritage.)

Weekly dodgeball energizes customers, but what really gets people bouncing  is Friday night’s free Bubble Soccer.

Hilarious video in link below – with soccer star Brian Ching showing how the play is leveled – maybe that should be rounded off – for amateurs.

Yep, lighten up and get a kick outta life.

Besides, it’s free. It’s beer. It’s relatively painless…especially with the beer…

(Actualgame videos here)

Catch you on the bounce side.

Dunno why, but this clip seemed to just go round with it:

yep knee pads would be good… or a bubble for the whole me ;O)

    • philosophermouseofthehedge / Feb 13 2019 7:18 am

A massive hamster ball for dogs – I’ve seen some for people rolling down hills, but one for dogs would have to be bite proof and have a portal for heads to stick out and grab the tennis ball. (Hmmm..where’s the patent office forms?)
Thanks for chasing an idea this way!

My first thought was how awful to surround healthy skin in plastic – toxic plastic. Then I got to wondering if the bubbles came in various sizes to accommodate both the thin and the robust folks – or is the bubble just filled with more air for the lean person? How are they cleaned? And apparently, one has to have some lower body strength… the other half of the red team never could get back up after being knocked over! Ha ha! I might be interested in the entertainment factor while sipping a good beer.

All that is why there must be beer? Participants want to wear light clothes as it heats up really fast inside there. – talk about sticking to it …which does bring up the question of cleaning them…if the place has a swimming pool, too…
Thanks for rolling in with some hilarious observations

I’ll pass on this. You can find me at the beach bar. With an umbrella drink.

But if it’s raining…..and that umbrella is suddenly inadequate? HAHA
Me thinks this is for the wild, the young and the beer drinkers….
Thanks for pouring up a comment

I suppose there are worse things you could do in the rain than wear a giant plastic bubble…

        • philosophermouseofthehedge / Feb 13 2019 12:48 pm

with the Spring /hurricane floods, a giant plastic bubble could be the next big fashion item!

Yeah, the Rubbermaid tubs kept swamping. Might be wise to put booties on the cats and dogs you are carrying out with you, though. Certainly would keep the hair presentable for the media greets once on dry land?

Oh… I didn’t even consider the hairdo possibilities!
            Now I definitely want one…

Please please please please tell me you’ve signed up for this! (and the beer)

    • philosophermouseofthehedge / Feb 14 2019 11:26 am

Thinkin’ this definitely deserves a place on your list. (Once the road construction from here to there gets better organized/easier to maneuver, maybe I can roll with this. – it looks hilarious.) (Actually we are considering relo closer to your area…looking at possibilities is a start)
Thanks for bouncing by. Hope your day is full of sun, fun, and friends…especially the sun part!

I think this is a brilliant idea, and if my ACL were in tact on the one knee, I’d probably do it. It has all my favorite things… or maybe my main favorite thing – SILLINESS! I love a good bout of silly!

People are far too serious these days – fun should be mandated…bubbles of one sort of another for all! Thanks for rolling by with a comment. Paw waves and Bob sends a nod!

For a couple of years now, every weekend some mob takes over part of our park, and play that ‘bubble soccer’ to much merriment for those without dogs,. At least there’s no booze involved.

They blow up a huge ‘soccer ground’ and run around like twits, as in twitter, as in Oval Office

That’s every weekend, except when it rains, this week we’re promised rain, trouble is we can’t go to the park either then 😦

Oh, so it’s your import! Should have known – HAHA. Sounds like it’s big thing there. – keeps them off the streets? (and hopefully out of the water..,.sharks might think those players are snacks wrapped in plastic!
(Luckily we had 3 hrs of sun yesterday so Molly had a chance to run a bit with friends – today it was an entire day of cold drizzle or sea fog….we are going to develop gills….) Thanks for rolling a comment this way

We’ve been feeding the sharks this year; lost a couple or a few. Lost count, in fact I don’t even bother keeping count. It’s the sharks home, and if they want to eat intruders I say “fair enough”
