Sideline-ed by the light

Ah, Monday. Such a cruel late. Bad design…must be human made.

But to pass on by would be tempting bait.

My greatest fear is looming…(“Too bad,” smirks the cat. “Too much dreaming when you should act.”)

But on March 11 – no matter if I claim my hands are numb, stuck, and refuse to obey – clock changed or not, it’s Daylight Saving, anyway.

Blame Ben Franklin, William Willett and the whole darn electrical industry (That includes you Prius, Volt, and starry-eyed TESLA – we know you are charged up about running more…but have you considered the draining of AC and loud road trip music on your battery stores?)

More daylight time for recreation, shopping, and little children credibly whining, “But it’s not time.”

Contrary to traditional phrasing, now it might be better to say, “Make hey while the dark shades.”

Oh, there’s a real post simmering until ready, but a recent notice made me feel a bit heady:

It’s been 7 years this blog has rambled and rumbled along

It wouldn’t any fun without you readers joining the chaos and songs.

So I thank you gratefully for all your visits

And leaving something for a bit of a giggle (and who doesn’t need that these days?).

Here’s writer Susan Toy‘s personal life coach offering an instructive video to her and us as a refresher course.. (Ask any cat. Any of them will respond, “Humans need to just don’t get what is important in life or how to relax enough to recognize it when it swings your way…Oh, well, they are useful opening cans of food and doors…”)

Gathering up the sunny spots (And paw and claw waves from all of the Realm in appreciation of your kindness and visits)

Phil, the Philosopher Mouse of the Hedge

Well, cool cat(s), congratulations on reaching the age or reason (well, so said the Catholic church when I was a child, which meant you could officially be GUILTY), Hope you;re not itchign to leave us. And I look forward to seeing what’s been simmering when it’s cooked. I think…

Recently, their superiority is glaringly clear. We stare in a corner in a pointed hat, they mull over a point there in the air….or over there…or wherever that red jumpy light goes HAHA

Me? I’m just hoping the sun finally comes out, so we can remember the difference between daylight and dark. The faint glimmers we’re getting today are a sign of hope, but I just read that there’s rain on the way again. Do tell.

Anyhow, I don’t mind the clock change so much, except that it takes me two weeks to get used to it. Why spring should be harder than fall, I don’t know. But it is. I can’t wait.

Is today your 7th WP anniversary? They say seven is a lucky number — we’re certainly lucky to have you!

Any excuse to go outside – I’ll even pull dollar weed (There is not purpose for that one…our friend who installs and oversees major landscape for places like Moody Gardens says he’s tried to find that plant a place to shine and flower…but each attempt a failure…)
It was so odd to see blue sky – even if it took noon to get here. Sigh. (I can’t remember the weather pattern rotation..do hope extreme heat isn’t next in line)
The cat is already on Daybright Saving Time and I have to admit getting up with the sun and going to bed when dark seems pretty natural. (Lucky not to have all those florescent or bright LED lights in an office confusing bio rhythms)
Cheers – calls for wine, or at least fancy coffee. Thanks for polka-ing along

HA HA – blogging is a funnel of a life. (a novel could be, too, but that would require purposefully moving in one direction and sitting still for long periods of time…hmmmm)

You and I must have started this journey around the same time, Phil. I could use a cat on occasion to show me the way. Let’s see if I can sharpen my claws on this hammock? And congratulations! –Curt

The cat is already on daymight saving time…waking everyone up waaaay too early. (Then eating and immediately settling in for a nap) Still it’s good to shift into earlier hour for morning dog walks – it’ll be terrible hot during mid day before we know it. (Hope you guys are warm – sounds like a terrible weather pattern flinging itself at you)
Thanks for joining the parwty here.

truly, there’s no greater leap than that of man’s vanity,,, but we cats try to remind the monkey when he gets out of hand… and when it comes to moving the clock forward or backward, even so, time goes by. To think you’ve been here for seven years, and I for barely seven days… time and space in the soup… with a few noodles to agetate the imagination… in and out, round we go; if life isn’t a circus carousel, surely it’s a buble within a buble; bless you.

It is so much more natural and biological clock friendly to get up as the sun rises – whenever that happens. Sun dials. Might be a return demand for those….anything to get people outside and connected to the natural world again for the betterment of all.

Griz style is something I can only dream of achieving. That is one cool cat. Observe, then in the hammock, with a little fur tidy, for the win. Animals know what’s what, don’t they?

I always wanted a hammock tied between trees instead of a metal stand..but a porch hammock looks pretty good (But there has to be a porch swing, too…even if you can’t sleep in them very well ..or people can’t. HAHA)

I adjust easier to this early change than I do the one in autumn. Must be the farmer in me. This is my seventh year too… actually it was last week I think. Congrats to you and me… though you do writing more often than I do. Still, seven years is a long time!

I stopped wearing watches years ago – and just told time by the sun. (OH, OK if there were meetings, I could always look at my phone) Felt so much better. I feel better if I get up with the sun…(and as summer approaches I’d better get used to getting up early so the dog can get a walk before the sun gets too glaring.) I think it must be there farmer genes HAHA
Seven years is a long time – the actual date was last week, too. How funny. YEA for us! Couldn’t ask for better companions on this blogging journey. Onward!

What a seven year ride it has been in the Hedge! Time does fly by…and speaking of time…let me once again register my disinterest in all things Daylight Savings Time. Saw an article back in 2013 estimating DST costs the USA well over $400 million dollars based on various criteria – I don’t know if it includes all the “great” energy savings we supposedly get. Ugh. Well, whatever what time it is it’s always a good time to visit here. Carry on.

Daymight Savings is promoted by retail, entertainment venues, and travel industry…and why we put up with it, I don’t know. One company I worked with before DST was adopted just asked if we all wanted to start work at 7 instead of 8 and get off and hour early. Worked for us. (We eventually also voted to work longer days in summer so we could have Fridays off…stuff got done faster, I think – and 3 day weekends all summer were wonderful
Appreciate you traveling over this way time after time – really glad to see you back in action.
