The Inner Wolf

You can take a Malamute out of the Arctic, but not the Arctic out of the Malamute.

Satisfying her inner wolf, Molly enjoys her heritage.

The towering fan palms are shaking ice off their petticoats. Molly hears it falling and is sure the noise is something in the bushes that must be chased – and who could intrude on her wild dreams? She’s thrilled and dancing like a reindeer in the backyard.

“Santa,” she says, “knows she’s been very very good.”

(Unlike The German that ripped open and devoured several Fed Ex delivered packages her porch. Refusing to take any blame, The German says only she was protecting the household as she was trained to do.)

RC Cat benevolently smiles from her heated sheepskin window tuffet studying the snow. Quietly comments knowingly, “It’s the magic of The Dark Tree of a Thousand Stars.”

She could be right.

Merry on

Phil, the Philosopher Mouse of the Hedge.

There was snowfall last night despite the semi-tropical climate and being only a hop, skip, and a jump into the car for 20 min to the beach. It’s the second time since we’ve been in this house that Christmas season snow has appeared. Usually if the white stuff arrives and sticks, it’s around Valentines.

Wow! We haven’t had snow here yet in the northeast. Maybe tomorrow.

I’m glad Molly had fun. It must be a hoot living in RC’s head.

I hope those packages weren’t ruined! Otherwise the German will have some ‘splaining to do. 😁

No snow here either. Some is predicted for tomorrow, but without a cat sitting on her heated sheepskin window tuffet it wouldn’t be as cool as your snow.

Bummer about the packages but hey, just doing her job, right? 🙂 In winter I always enjoy seeing Huskies and other “winter” dogs out enjoying the cold and, hopefully, snow.

The snow made me absolutely giddy.

Peggy and I were talking about the difference between cats and dogs when it comes to snow. Dogs are often joyous while cats are more dubious. Maybe they play in the snow when no one can see them. 🙂 –Curt

Delight comes in so many forms! Love this celebration of uncommon snow. 👏👏👏👏👏

I didn’t know you had snow in your neck of the woods; I’m glad someone appreciates it, even if 🐱 doesn’t : 😀
