Fall down, but not out.

Woman in vintage bathing suit with movie camera. Silent film star Charlotte Rich.Feb.1922 NAtsional Police Gazette. (USPD. pub.date, artist life/Commons.wikimedia.org)

Roll em’ (USPD/Commons.wikimedia.org)

Fall must be just around the corner: look at all the nuts.

  • It’s finally happened: those of few social skills are finally unleashed.

Business Insider. “Google cancels diversity town hall.”

“…Some employees expressed concerns ahead of the town hall that they’d be “outed” online and feared for their safety, he said…. websites and videos on YouTube have listed Google employees by name along with their internal responses to Damore’s memo, political leanings, sexual orientations, and other personal info. It’s a shocking, disgusting response.”

Social awkward cliques …just like high school.

  • NCAA is concerned about passes.

Mandated sex ed. classes for coaches and players. (It looks like most pretty much got the “How To” instructions in high school and now they are struggling with the “How Not To’s” )

But more importantly the eagerly awaited the 2017 reveal – and such exquisite write-ups of each: “College football’s best new uniforms”

I know. We all know what’s important. New helmets and concussions.  That’s probably a criteria for those New Best Uniforms.

  • You can build a wall, but it won’t stop them.

They are only coming because they want a better life. Of course credibility is loss when they arrive with fur coats. (Not to mention those well polished nails.)

Ignore their taunts and share the bounty!

“Woman’s apartment invaded by raccoon burglars” (And the laughed at her through the windows. More videos here.)

Rollin’ in nutty times.

It sure is nutty times. Laughing raccoons are just a sign of those times, I suppose. So glad the raccoons around here don’t taunt us (or haven’t yet!).

Laughing raccoon as pretty common in this area. Honestly, with the extreme heat, isn’t the city telling all to seek cool AC during the day? No dumb beasts there. HAHA

Oh good lord, the woman with the raccoons is milking this for anything she can get! Yes it’s crazy that they got in, but she doesn’t need paid movers to another apartment to make her feel safe from furry bandits.

Wonder if she’s planning a lawsuit. Result of allowing so many people to declare themselves victims and expecting stuff to just shut them up?
Most wary residents would have insisted on a bolt latch on that attic access door before moving in…you never know who/what is crawling around in the big open attics that cross multiple apartments. Bet she likes the area for the lovely big trees and landscape, but I guess not the local indigenous inhabitants.
      Thanks for giggling along

The google article was badly written. I expect more from the UK! lol No I don’t 🙂
I do think it is scary in a very apt way that people in Google’s employ had their personal information shared – to hurt them if possible. I hope it lets them realise how their own company allows this to happen to Joe Blow from Kokomo, too.

If they got rid of those helmets and all that body armour then they probably wouldn’t have so many injuries.

Take a leaf out of the Rugby Union & League players outfits, and the Soccer players and the AFL none of these blokes wear body armour and protection, perhaps they don’t worry if they get a cauliflower ear and a broken nose and the gridiron players have to worry about how good they look in the post match interviews. Then again I’m probably prejudiced.

And as for raccoons in the apartment they must have been short on real news that day. Had POTUS kept his big mouth closed and his twitter fingers off his call/mobile ?

Have you considered getting yourself a real job? 😈 🐻

News? What’s that? All that seems to be on the air is gossip, fiction, and old news disguised (with inflammatory language added) among the opinion pieces. (BBC and other international sources are luckily available). Most people I know have simply turned off the TVs and found other things to do. All the desperate local new show have going for them is storm info and funny animal stories. (and you can get those online)
You make a good point about sports equipment – it has evolved here along with game rules. Not for the better either one. At some point you have to stop wrapping the trees in padding and let the game play – it is voluntary after all. Yeah, must look pretty for the interviews, product commercials, and the nightclubs.
Superficial nonsense everywhere you look. (Ah, lunch break is over, but thanks for the mid day grins)

The ABC in Australia was formed on the same basis as the BBC. It too, is owned by the people and our politicians, especially those of the right leanings despise them, but they are reluctant /scared to change the mandate given them when constituted in the 1920’s
As a consequence we do get one very good reliable honest intelligent newscast, on air 24/7. I doubt you can get it in the US.
I don’t know whether or not it’s available on the ‘ABC Iview ” network on the Internet for aliens.
You might want to try it.

Our major broadcast networks are also privately owned. But with internet access and cable offering international programs, the big 3 (ABC, NBC, CBS) are struggling – mainly of their own doing since they only offer gossip, info taken. out of context, old news disguised as “new reveals!”, staged/slanted news, and politically directed opinions offered by news anchors who seem to feel they are now experts on everything, and revel in being “celebrities (“people tune in to see us!”), or stage performers with exaggerated expressions and tone of voice that leave little mystery as to how they feel about their story. They deserve their fate.
When I watch a couple of the business channels on satellite/cable as the economy is affects everything. Knowing multiple languages also helps get different information and perspective of things – so maybe you can dig through the mess and get what is really happening.
Anyone who watches one news source is getting a limited view and is easily mislead.
I’ll check that network – viewing depends on who hold the world-wide rights to it. Thanks

Our ABC is not a business run for profit. It’s government OURS THE PEOPLES owned and ad free. Try this link to their/our classical radio station which I have on pretty well constantly
            https://radio.abc.net.au/stations/classic/live?play=true
If you get that then you might get their TV station on the Internet.

Cool link. Our government has wide manic depressant mood swings, so would prefer it not own/run media. Agenda free media without political money or leanings is our only hope – and right now it is so hurt and angry the horse they picked to win the race didn’t win…so there are alternatives showing up. One based in mid west actually gives the facts with no opinion like journalism used to be) and lets you make up your own mind. They also cover a wide range of international stories where as the major networks repeat the same gossip and tired rants. Education level (and knowledge of geography and history are so rare in many) hinder their understanding that what is going on in other places does effect them. (Venezuela’s zoo is at risk of being considered a grocery store now. The place is really unstable. Worrisome.)
Yep, you guys hold on to your past as it is your future.

There is not a house, a shack, or shanty, a boat a caravan in Australia where our ABC cannot be accessed. Our present government the Liberal Party of Australia (read conservative, GOP/Royalists) are dying to sell it off for a few billion dollars ( of which a lot is destined for their own coffers) to one rupert murdock, the vilest creature that was every spawned in Australia, yet his mother was a wonderful person.
They know if they did it would be the end of them forever but it would be to late then, for murdock would then control the media just as Goebbels did for Hitler.

It’s an ongoing fight here but so far we the people have beaten the liberals!

May it continue to do so!

Resident raccoons are offended. They neatly clean up under (and occasionally in) the bird feeders. They feel it’s their part to keep the environment beautiful. We have captured them on the field cameras we had set out to see who was taking a dip in our pool at night. Turns out we had a doe that came for spa night. The raccoons were the janitors of the group.

Yes! Raccoons are the busy little curious children. If you don’t want them stopping by, lock the openings.
I bet you get some real laughs at the nocturnal parties in your yard. Will watch to see a prize winning video on AMF show soon.

Of course you know I was most interested in that raccoon story. My first thought was that raccoons look for food – the fact that the five-year-old’s room was ransacked did not surprise me. And oh the ignorance… fear from touching anything lest one acquire all sorts of diseases. Unless one eats the raccoon poop it is unlikely anyone would acquire a disease. The rest of us deal with varmints and do not expect the powers that be to reimburse us or help us move. It’s called LIFE. Deal with it.

The raccoons were certainly not the nuts of that one. They are such mischievous creatures who often act like very bright 3 yr old humans. Any intelligent person would insist on a latch or bolt locking that building’s common attic access port – before critter or human decided to use it. Sigh. Failing education system and people who have become so used to having others rush in and “fix” things for them…acquired helplessness. (Next a lawsuit?) Gads.

Ah, but the raccoon couple were the intelligent ones in that incident. (And if they don’t put a latch on that attic access door, there will be return visits – once they figure out a food source, you know how it goes)
8th grade? Even when I was in school it was 6th grade. They pulled all the girls one day and boys the next into the auditorium, lowered the shades so it was a really dark, and showed films and had a nurse there discussing/answering questions. Parents need to be alert these days with all the images/shows kids are exposed to – I remember a 5th grade girl pregnant in Sept – about 15 years ago, so probably not so rare now. Some childhood society has given these kids.
Thanks for adding to the fallout.
