Shark Tank potential
If any idea has a chance, this one does.
Find a solution to a common problem and the world will beat a path to your door. So I’m sweeping the porch in preparation.
Selfies have become mainstream, but there’s a problem of limiting hand usage.
Even with a long selfie stick, one hand is always occupied making it near impossible to hold really big protest signs so they can be read, do “hands up”correctly, pump both fists to show enthusiasm or protest at the same time if you also have to hang onto dogs, partners, small children, or hold multiple food items/coffee….
You see the problem.
People have stuff and need two hands for normal activities, yet still want to take selfies.
Solution: a backpack design featuring a long arm that a cell phone can be attached which arches over the wearer’s head.
The arm might be remote-controlled by the wearer to swing or rotate for selfies in profile as well as face forward.
Better than taking a purse that could get stolen lost in the riot, game day, concert crowds.
Reel potential here for screen queens.
So Shark wanna-bes, anyone ready to bite into a great new product?

Who wants to see your selfie? I’m not entirely sure there’s a customer product out there. Wait! Of course there is! It’s me! Me! Me! Me!
Yawn.

Should be a hit with modern well-heeled new moms: baby carriage, coffee and selfie? Thanks for the snappy comment

Add in a voice-activation feature and I think you’ve got something there. I personally have never taken an selfie, but I have participated in group selfies with a selfie stick. It is an awkward device, as you say. Will you still write this blog after you have made your millions with this awesome invention?

If I can only line up a famous designer’s name for the backpack….Christmas is coming! Thanks for picturing it. (You’ll get an invitation for the yacht shortly)

You better patent it quick!

And a pet version…RC Cat was quite perturbed with the prototype saying she kept thinking it was a gnat needing swatting…a gnat just out of reach. Perhaps it can aslo be marketed as a chubby cat exercise program? Thanks for picturing it

Kate’s right. Patent it quick. It could so easily catch on and you could make a mint!

You’re right. An idea crazy enough to work…and think you can rush around up and down stairs knowing that if you fall, you’ll have both hands to catch yourself. Marketing: it’s a health and safety tool! Thanks for seeing the big picture

It needs a name. How about “The Obsessalot”? Sleek as an ocelot, smooth and quiet in operation, it makes stalking that perfect selfie a snap.
That’s not bad, actually. Put me in marketing.

Years down the road – if the images remain – individuals will be able to remind themselves they were there as evident from the picture, but will they have any memory of the actual place or experience from actually experiencing it? Hope so. Thanks for sending a snappy comment

HA! You can see it, too? All those whirling helicoptering arms over bus loads of tourists. (The eye docs are probably expanding their offices to meet the demands?) Thanks for being wary of the No Selfie Zone

It’s a big market – don’t you think dog owners will think it’s the next must have pet accessory? Dogs have fans on FB and Twitter, too! Thanks for the snappy comment

It’s a great idea for folks who take selfies. (Personally I’ve never understood the desire to do so.)

Social media has given us so many things. (I can see Animal Control pressing animal cruelty charges against any owner who puts a selfie arm backpack on a cat. Would drive a cat insane…although no doubt a video of that would go viral) Thanks for sticking in a comment

I like the backpack idea, but rather have a button hidden in your hand, press it once and a drone shoots out of the pack and positions itself. Press again after posing, and it takes the shot and flies back.
Because it was there while I was waiting for something else, I recently watched a section of our local Shark Tank. Granddaughter’s swimming instructor asked me today if I had seen it, and I was about to answer that I never watched the show when I remembered that, this episode, I had. Turns out her son was in it, and did very well!

I like the idea. Ironically just this morning I heard a radio host saying he has a “hobby” of sorts going around photobombing people taking selfies. His theory is there is nothing more boring than a selfie that doesn’t have someone goofing off in the background. Users of this proposed new device may therefore want a feature to incapacitate (albeit briefly) any one who tries to break the “aura” of their selfie.

Gosh, first it was the extreme location selfies, then photobombing: the evolution of selfies…sounds like a book title to me! Appreciate you sending that picture this way (Whew – what a game UH played last night. They are determined to make people notice.)
