Reality treed.
Go ahead with your square-eyed glassy glare.
Your lines of power.
Cut off at the knees, you think I am gone.
Yet, clearly something of me remains.
Essence not scrubbed.
No matter how hard the scullery-made tries.
No matter the attempts by The Machine.
Some stains never fade. Some meanings linger.
There to be seen
As a warning.
As a promise.
Do as you will, but nothing gold can stay. Including purse loads tossed to influence: fodder for sheep.
Nature’s first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay. (Robert Frost)
Only a shadow?
If you wish.
But still there. No matter.
Phil, the Philosopher Mouse of the Hedge.

that’s great and it is the best house decoration ever … I wonder how it looks after 10 or 2o years, will we only see the stem on the wall?

And it’s organic! Seems likes it’s growing on people. Meanwhile the building is looking sadder and beginning to show signs of crumbling. A timeless contest. We’ll see who outlasts whom? Paw waves to cheer – soggy here again. Blankie naps are good – hope smiles growing there! HUGS and thanks for chewing on some words to leave.

Perspective is everything, isn’t it? And I always love bumping into that Frost poem. It’s a favorite. Clever post.

Which is the shadow world – the one that will outlast the over in the end? (Had seen that image on several early golden mornings recently – then the “gold” picked the brain lock. It is a very cool/intriguing image hiding in plain sight) Thanks for snapping a few words to leave. (and dripping from dog walk…too little time between showers!. Weekend for reading and gazing out windows it appears)

After the leaves are gone, what is left in that book. Thanks for the encouragement. Appreciate your comments

Beautiful to behold but practically impossible to perch within or climb 🙂

Intriguing organic design that only requires sun for existence. Shed solid form in order to grow in mystery? (Or tired of birds, cats, small children scuffing bark – and dogs watering without asking first…)
Thanks for branching out and raking a comment this way

Cool shadow. I wonder how it will dip and change as time goes by…

Could it be a secret passage like in Harry Potter’s rail station? Brigadoon? Thanks for peering along
