Stone cold motivation. (Whiskers optional)

Once, when the Greybeards talked, people listened.

Wisdom carved in stone.

Stone architectural detail of face

Whether the pillar of the community, a supporting role, or merely a peg in the portal rosette,

All hushed for messages.

Thankful for shared insights and guidance.

Ideas from pillar to post.

Don’t need that now.

There’s Google and WebMD.

Get info on demand anytime.

In a group. All alone

Dressed to impress at Starbucks or dressed for quest at home.

Something to be thankful for.

Architectural stone detail around window

Windows for the thankful soul.

Another thing to be thankful for?

Being surrounded by those who matter during your choice of holiday celebrations.

They’d really be delighted to repeat it all next year, too.

And you – only you –  can do something to make sure that happens.

Get those cancer screening exams and tests done now.

Perfect time to make that call.

So easy to get the Scheduling Office to pick up the phone this time of year.

Big selection of available appointment times.

Because everyone else will be crushed shopping at the mall!

(How unhealthy is that anyway? Let me count the ways….)

Now is the perfect time to find presence.

It's in style year round

It’s in style year round

Life isn’t written in stone.

But your totally avoidable demise could be.

Thankfully, it doesn’t have to be.

Phil, the Philosopher Mouse of the Hedge

Way to help get the word out about male cancer screening–it’s the macho thing to do. 🙂

  4. jmmcdowell / Nov 25 2013 9:03 pm

Thankful you stopped by! (No way headed anywhere near any sort of retail store until people are back at work and kids back in school.(besides it’s another sleepover with the German – can’t leave those 2 alone for too long…they tend to move furniture around.) Hope some sun arrives to help warm your day!

  8. Long Life Cats and Dogs / Nov 26 2013 1:37 pm

Had a good chuckle at the “dressed for quest” – sounds like hubby dearest. Great Movember post

    • philosophermouseofthehedge / Nov 26 2013 7:35 pm

Life is so much better with computers…ask any pet. The dogs like you staying home in one spot – and the cats, well, they love to supervise and dictate. Thanks for climbing over to chat

  9. gingerfightback / Nov 26 2013 1:54 pm

Cheers and I dig the Lion’s head to. Is it Thanksgiving this week?

    • philosophermouseofthehedge / Nov 26 2013 4:56 pm

Architectural details are such treasure…not much like that anymore.
Yep, here people are thankful on Thurs…too bad that feeling isn’t spread around more during the year?

      • gingerfightback / Nov 26 2013 6:40 pm

Agreed – have a good holiday and all the best to your family!

  10. csroth3 / Nov 27 2013 1:23 am

Yes, I did all mine end of Oct. beginning of Nov. Got those nasty polyps removed and recovered just in time to start a new job. Thanks for visiting my old posts and a Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

    • philosophermouseofthehedge / Nov 27 2013 3:54 pm

Sounds like a great way to tie up a year and get ready for the new one. Congrats! Realized I hadn’t seen that beautiful pink and purple header recently and looked you up. Glad things are going well. Thanks for rolling by and enjoy all the celebrations ahead

  11. jannatwrites / Nov 28 2013 5:19 am

Great reminder. I suspect the mall will be more crowded than doctors’ offices!

    • philosophermouseofthehedge / Nov 28 2013 8:04 pm

True – more parking available in the doctors offices’parking garages, too. YEA! Counting on that. Thanks for rolling a comment over
