Simple request approved.

My dear Molly,

Although it is very early in the Realm, I decided to clear my floor workspace, chew on neglected correspondence, and to discuss that Matter of Great Importance.

We got quite a chuckle over your dances in the sprinkler.

Old Tiger does send a caution it would be best to avoid leaping and frightening the petite cardinal pair.

That couple was very shy and reclusive even before you arrived.

So please restrain yourself while they are nibbling the Lantana berries.

Those scarlet feathers are cherished by all residents of the Realm – especially RC who finds them enchanting.

So cut it out.

A howl to the wise is sufficient?

Now enough lecturing  mentoring. Back to that Matter of Great Importance.

Old Tiger and I are grateful you and RC have offered one of your Guardians so save us from Extreme Distress while our Person must be away.

That last attempted to abandon us  see us kindly treated and pampered at the Pet Retreat was most disturbing.

I grow weak at the memory.

Before being tossed out of the mobile window transport bribed with yummy treats false promises to enter that spa resort dubious establishment, I consulted with the Old Danish Gentleman at the dog park.

We followed his suggestions: locate the video cameras and look completely pathetic.

With great difficulty, I was able to refuse my pre-packaged meals from home. (Old Tiger says he did the same, but I have my doubts. You can’t trust cats.)

I huddled back in my jail cell room when the door opened. I was expected to mingle with dogs? Appalling.

Once dragged into in the cell block with other happy campers incarcerated dogs, I folded myself under a table and remained there: no matter if the nice ladies guards offered toys or pets – no matter if other Germans nosed in inviting me to make a break for it play. I slumped and presented the most pathetic image possible.

All in plain view of the cameras that I knew my doing the best she could Person was monitoring constantly out of guilt.

It worked.

Alternative plans were made this time.

We are so grateful, RC and you are willing to contract out one of staff for a short period.

But curious as to why only Feline Greenies were requested in return.

Really, Molly, nothing for yourself?

Is it wise to let RC handle all negotiations?

Please consider.

Rest assured we shall treat your loaned Guardian with care and are preparing for company.

You can see I am warming the preferred spot on the couch in front of the TV.

Your kindness and sacrifice is greatly appreciated, (but no need to tell RC that.)

The German

Don’t worry. Company’s coming

Woo Woo back at ya’, German!

So jumping wildly happy to hear from you.

I know what it’s like to be abandoned without a Guardian to give hugs and treats, so it’s OK for you to borrow one of mine ours – for only a short while.

We’re sending the one who walks the fastest – RC said you would like that. No way I’m going to give up the one who hands out treats if you make a cute face.

RC Cat is preparing a check list to use while we are short staff…

It’s rather extensive…

I do have concerns about it.

There are pages and pages about menus for RC’s meal, RC’s snacks, RC’s treats between snacks, RC’s ice ream requirements after dinner, RC’s morning mousies, RC’s night-time mousies, sunny room schedule for RC’s naps, RC’s open window schedule.

Pages and pages.

RC swears there’s stuff in there for me, too.

But every time I ask to see, she sprawls on top of the pages, fluffs up really big, and hisses, “I’ve got it covered. I’ve got it covered!”

I hate to cause an incident as I am still a new member of the realm, but should I worry?

Even short-staffed, we will manage. I will be on my best behavior to make life easier.

I have been controlling my teeth and have not redesigned my bed recently because once the sewing Guardian is gone, I figure if my bed somehow gets ripped to shreds, I can simply sleep on the bed with this Guardian…RC can relocate to the couch….She can enjoy the nocturnal view of the outer realm from there.

I’m so excited because this Guardian allows me to run wildly through carefully monitor the sprinkler operation of the backyard realm.

As you can see, we are planning here, too.

Please keep our Guardian busy and remember to insist on lots of walks outdoor.

RC says she shall counsel the Guardian on appropriate paw wear.

We have heard your area is experiencing cooler weather with storms.

So RC is anxious this Guardian is kept warm and dry.

I offered to include some hair tumbleweeds of my own to be used as insulation, but RC assured me that was unnecessary as there would be plenty in supply from you.

This made me uneasy. German. This is only a temporary arrangement.

My Guardian is not to become dependent on you for warmth.

So I will sneak in a little of my hair as a reminder.

I suspect RC has already planned to do the same as I caught sight of her sitting pensively in the suitcase.

Oh, the birds are requesting I chase them waiting for me to patrol, so will paws with this.

Your friend in fur,

Molly, the Mauler (Not really. Only a puppy in a chewing stage….)

So sad about your soggy weather. I’ll bark at a few seagulls in your name.

Looks like the gang is living it up while you’re away. They have you wrapped around their little, and not so little, paws. Good for them. Less good for you!

I’ll bet the German will be having a great time visiting with you while Molly counts the hours until you’re back home. I’m curious if RC is using the opportunity to implement some new rules around the realm….

The German is looking forward to lots of walks – and has been poking her nose in Granny’s hideout to spread the excitement. RC left a garbled message about wine glass, sleeping dog in the hall, and wall splatters. She sounded as if cleanup staff is busy. Sure she is writing memos….
      Thanks for pawsing to chat

Never mind the dogs and cats – that’s one wowza sunset. The sunrise this morning was gorgeous, too – but I missed it. Got the tail end (LOL) but no good pic.

Nearly had a heart attack today when I found out Dixie’s usual attendant for times I have to be gone had quit her job at the vet. Lucky for me, she’s still in business – just stopped working to go to school. The thought of having to institutionalize the furball wasn’t good!

Red sky at morning, sailor take warning. One good thing about Molly’s schedule is seeing some spectacular sunrises right now.
We have (finally) found a vet we are comfortable with, but boarding is worrisome. RC is fine with a neighbor checking in (oh, what to do when they leave for college – we’ve got a couple of years, but wringing hands already….must check with you about that)
      THanks for gazing along

I don’t think Germans do dog care/kennels/whatever. It doesn’t suit them. In fact when we had Princey he never went away from home. That was mainly because we were worried about the effect on him if we dumped him at a kennels one day when he had been taken to the rescue shelter twice when other people had chucked him on the street. We didn’t want him to think we were leaving him 😦 so the only foreign hol we had without dogs we got petsitters. A bit like you really 🙂

Pippa barks high paws to the German and snoses to bouncing Molly.

We always hesitate with rescue dogs also. They do panic from the memories. Years ago we had a wonderful friend who raised Boviers and was so grateful we were able to rescue one 3 hrs from death at the city shelter. She selectively boarded a few dogs – like military and border patrol ones. Absolute security and she babied them like her own. Really miss that!
Woo-woo Pippa ( Molly is working on not overwhelming with enthusiasm). The German sends a dignified wave and tail wags!

Way to work the cameras and get out of jail! We have a rescue golden retriever and there’s no way she’d go into a kennel. No way. Cracked up at the image of her chasing birds (it’s funny until one gets caught.) I hope RC rules with a kind paw rather than iron fist 🙂

RC for some reason has been rather accepting of Molly, but wary (with reason…stop jumping, sit…working on that…). Kennels – even the best – just aren’t home. The German simply wasn’t going to have any part of it. After all she’s spent her whole life working and living with people. (Dog? She’s a dog?) Thanks for barking along

My cats may want to consult with RC when we do our next trip. Seems that there are a few more treats and mousies than they normally get and they are not happy about it.

RC says she will be glad to point a paw or two in the right direction. She is mulling over including a chapter: “Don’t Trip up Over Trip Planning” for her book. She always writing a book, but somehow loses interest after rearranging her mousies. (She get really purrturbed having to start chapter 1 again and again…). Purrhaps it is all for the best?
RC awards a soft cheek pat for your efforts on behalf of your cats.

Aw – Germans are sensitive to their surroundings. We always have someone look after ours while we are away as well. It’s easier on them and my old girl just couldn’t take the stress of the kennel.

After working and living with people, The German was miserable to be grouped with dogs: too loud, too much activity. Besides she needs a couch seat in front of a TV at night. The German sends a tail wag for your encouragement
