No contest now, Mount Airy.
The bloggersphere herd.
Slim hope. Sheer size and numbers stacked against it.
Yet the neighborhood blocked out a plan.
Organized. Each taking a small part.
Engines fine tuned: started right up.
A long road ahead.
Fraught with obstacles blocking the way.
Weeks and weeks of uphill battle.
There were known risks.
Some might break form the herd.
Get tired of it.
Bored with blocking out time.
Simply lie down telling the others, “You continue on.”
Some might waver and leave with a wave.
Paddling towards new excitement.
“Been there. Done that. Now onto something new.”
Others could seek to refresh – and suddenly something else catches their eye.
Intrigued with novelty, they might just roll off and away.
It could have been the pits.
A disturbing thought.
But you, the cyber-neighborhood, considered and acted with persistence: clicking, clacking, and deciphering odd fonts.
From far and wide, you made sure one small town was not left behind.
So happy to announce: Mount Airy’s the LEGO library contest’s big winner!
While ALL libraries are worthy, there was something about this little rural one.
Mount Airy is Mayberry.
So a small gesture of thanks to the town for all that TV fun.
To all who stuck in there and answered the call: a great big THANK YOU!
